The Light Assault VTOL & The Siege Bike

Here’s the Link. Now I know they’re only mega blocks, but do you guys think they may be the prelude to two new vehicles in Multi-player? Maybe they’ll come out in the next Map pack, or the next couple of Map packs, who knows? What do you guys think?
They sound too perfect for multi-player for them just to be held in Mega blocks only.

considering that these sets are pictured with Halo 4 Spartan models implies something…

ONI REAP-X deal with experimental technology, apparently. From what I’ve come to expect from 343i, I do not see these ever arriving in Halo 4. Maybe a later game though.

Camo Grunts, shielded Jackals with beam rifles? Surely this means more enemy variety.

Blue MC Armor = Master Chief H4 armor in multiplayer?

Isn’t that from legends.

Hope that these will be released for Halo 4!

Take these things with a grain of salt. For all we know they could be like the HellSpartans, toy only. They may be vehicles we’ll be seeing in some upcoming video or comic. They may be early iterations of Halo 5 ideas. The fact that they’re shown with Halo 4 Spartans and Covenant tells us nothing. Toy companies will go with what they have, and they release products as part of a “series”.

That VTOL thing looks like a Manta rip-off to me.

Those designs are just the worst… they look like vehicles from Unreal Tournament.

UNSC vehicles have always been grounded in believable hardware; the Warthog, the Socrpion, the Mongoose and so on. These Megablocks vehicles just look ridiculous, almost as if the designer has no idea what Halo is about or can’t comprehend really simple design direction.

UNSC = modern day human technology
Covenant = crazy alien technology

Why would that Siege Bike even exist? Why not just come out with it and call it a UNSC Chopper?

> That VTOL thing looks like a Manta rip-off to me.

The Manta isn’t a flying vehicle though. It just hovers and hops. The VTOL is a flying vehicle. It does have a similar look though.

Oh, hey that first vehicle looks like the Panzercycle from Mercenaries 2.
New vehicles would be nice, I just don’t see them adding them until maybe the next game.

You’re telling me the warthog, with it’s open cabin and nonexistent armor, is grounded in reality? The absolutely bonkers design of the literal scorpions cannon? THAT’S grounded in believable hardware?

Hell, not even talking about the technology for a bit, this is halo, we play as a bunch of genetically and cybernetically enhanced super soldiers who wear energy shielded suits of ceramic armor and who can destroy a mech with a few punches. I saw my character rip a knife across the spine of an ancient AI, powered by the soul of a human, designed to protect an even more ancient inside-out planet.
Have a little friggen imagination.

My only complaint of these vehicles are the names.

ASSAULT VTOL & THE SIEGE BIKE

If you can see the problem before I have to tell you then you get 10 Halo Bragging Rights points.

Both of the names have nothing to do with animals.

What small scale Halo UNSC vehicles aren’t named after an animal? Just these two…

5 bonus brag points for anyone that also knew that the Covies vehicles were all named after afterlife style words(words that basically mean the same thing as ghost). The Brutes vehicles weren’t named after ghosts though.

And look at what that has done to the vehicles.

Hog: slowed down (H2), then made lighter (H3), then made fragile + nerfed turret (Reach), then made obnoxiously loud (H4). It lost it’s CE bounce, CE stability, it’s CE splattering fun, it’s CE first person passenger seat, it’s CE believable and reliable chain gunner, it’s CE invincibility.

It gained a couple of new turrets I guess…

Scorpion: slowed down (H2), then lost it’s chain gun turret (H3), then had awkward turning (Reach). The only time it was closest to a modern tank was in CE, with it’s fast movement speed.

mentioned CE 7 times

It’s time UNSC goes aquatic.

Manta & Basilisk

I wish I could come up with some Aquatic UNSC vehicle name, the only thing on my mind is the Mako.

Closest real life example of the Siege Bike. A treaded segway: http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/1959/treadedsegway.gif

Believable enough?

I’ve always thought Stingray would be a good name for the water version of the Warthog. I still don’t know what I’d name a bike though… I would probably have to go with Python.

I remember reading popular science(I think it was popular science) about some kind of treaded motorcycle called the hyanide. Although only a prototype currently exists as a one-fifth scale model.
