Requiring players to submit a phone number in order to access ranked playlists is unhinged. They should probably just impose quitting bans, maybe not as immediately harsh as you’re suggesting, but the fact of the matter is you will NEVER be able to prevent people of leaving matches early. Sometimes you just got to take care if some crap in the real world.

It’s crazy that we kind of went from the match making composer in MCC to the total lack of playlist choice in Infinite.

I’ve been playing Solo/Duo/Controller and have been crashing every half-dozen games. I’ve tried playing Open with my friends (who are on PC) and we’ve had to just give up because it’s a virtual guarantee that one of them will crash.
So yeah, I don’t think this is a problem with quitters so much as crashers. Until they sort that out I don’t think it’s realistic to implement a severe penalty system.
What we need really is a way to rejoin ranked matches that are ongoing if we crash out.

Yea, but wouldn’t a matchmaking composer with that limited set if options ve way better than what we have? Like, just let me opt into game types in social…
Ranked is legit as is though
MCC has an amazing match composer but it sort of has to. It’s the only way to do it when you have that many modes spread across that many games.
Don’t get me wrong though, I totally agree with you, even with the limited options I think it would be way better if you could specify what mode to play. I was just saying that’s probably the logic. At the very least I think they should bring back H3’s veto system, give people a fighting chance at rejecting things they really don’t want. I’ve stopped playing BTB altogether now because literally 4/5 games I get are stockpile, and everyone just runs around doing challenges so not only do I hate the mode but I have to try and ferry ten power seeds back to my base solo every game lol
It’s done my nut in tbh, if they do put a match composer in I’m never playing that -Yoink!- mode again

Which they’re going to do, right now it’s just for stability purposes. This is a temporary setback.

A report feature is there. Has been since Halo 4. I have filed reports I’ve since 2014 and they were “open” (under investigation) up until this new Waypoint website update. I have filed 3 reports since the Infinite beta that are “open” at the moment. These reports don’t do much if anything at all.
My guess is that someone’s account would have to be reported a bunch of times before action is taken. Realistically I do not think to many people bother filing a report for something to happen.

As long as TC, 343 and Microsoft allow the “Multi-profile” of xbox their multiplayer are destined to die for the amount of “Trolls” there are.
That 343 did not learn anything with TC in Gears 5? it was IMPOSSIBLE to play guardian, Koth and dodgeball. The only thing you could play “MEDIUM” was TDM. It is not possible to make the same mistake a second time in less than 3 years.

The leavers are most likely people who crash, because the game is so poorly made. I would wager the crashing will RUIN their multiplayer experience over the actual leavers.

Gears 4 and Gears 5 are the closest multiplayer experiences Microsoft has had before launching HALO-INFINITE. Gears is the sister franchise to Halo.
The multiplayer of Gears 5 was unplayable due to the “MULTI-ACCOUNTS” that XBOX allows its users to do.

Lack of LOVE and RESPECT for the product. If you give them FREE games like HALO / GEARS. People WILL NOT VALUE it, they will treat the product as garbage. If you sell them HALO-INFINITE multiplayer for $ 30 or Gears 5 multiplayer for $ 30, do you know what happens?
Only PEOPLE truly INTERESTED in the product will go, you will filter 90% of the Trolls. An average Troll is not going to pay $ 30 for a game to go destroy it.
The HALO-INFINITE / GEARS MULTIPLAYER would have to be sold separately and ONLY WORK ON A SINGLE PROFILE.
With this you would increase the quality of the games by 90%, only HALO / GEARS FANS would go.
That is why in quality WEDDINGS or PARTIES you choose the people you invite to avoid ruining the celebration. Well in your game you must do the same QUALITY> QUANTITY
When you pay 500 DOLLARS for your X-SERIES / PS5, you take care of it, clean it, buy games for it to use it a lot. If they give it to you FREE, you will abandoned to its fate
