The last sprint protest!

Takes place on the release date. I for one will be leaving my copy on the shelf at the store. I will save my money for something else. Rent the game from redbox to beat the campaign and keep my eyes out for the next great game.

And what if The Community asa whole Enjoys halo 5. 343 take the feed back and creates an amazing halo experience, What if the balance everything and it plays fantastic?
Reviews start coming out and the game gets 9/10, 10/19, 4.5/5. The pro players enjoy it and start playing it regularly 343 holds and sponsored MLG halo tournament?

What then you still going to hold all your opinions off of a beta, and a couple videos

Aprox 16/100 of a full game?

OK well im pre ordering the LE and im going to play the crud out of it like every halo before it.

Agreed. Theres no way im buying another “modernised” halo. Ive had enough. Its old and stale.

and the way it use to be wasn’t? why do you think they are going to such great length to change this feel? It felt slow, acted slow, and I for one got bored with halo 3 way to quickly. It made halo feel so slow compared to its counterparts such as Gears of War, Battlefield, COD, assassin creed. All are AAA titles and what do they have in common? sprint is a main component.

When you think about it we have always had sprint, it is just now the new spartans are slower, and can not have a steady weapon while they run at 15kmh.

unless the game changes noticeably before release and they really dial in vehicle combat and have good larger scale maps this one will only be a rental for me just to play the story, I hate to be one of the guys constantly complaining about 343’s halos but every time I play it all I can think about is wasted potential, at this point i’ll just be happy if the MCC gets fixed, speaking of which do you guys think it’s going to be a huge wake up call to 343 if the MCC gets fixed and sustains a player base longer than halo 5?

At this point sprint is expected by casual joes that wont buy anything without it. Unfortunately we need casual joes for our population so its there even though we dont need it.

I’d far from say its the last sprint protest until there is a no sprint playlist with deflated maps i will continue to protest.

Most likely. it’s halo. And the BETA was only arena game type so small 4v4 maps.

lots of games have a fantastic, well balanced, sprint mechanic. Take a look at Counter Strike for example, their knife-sprint is a perfectly balanced movement mechanic that does not directly effect combat but absolutely plays a critical role in game play. The #1 argument for no-sprint is ‘you can easily escape from combat’, which was true for Reach and Halo 4, but is not true for Halo 5. In Halo 5, you CAN NOT engage sprint if you are taking damage, period. Halo 5 has locked out sprint from being a disengage from combat game mechanic, and only allows it to function as a map navigation feature.

Granted - thrust allows you to disengage fairly well. And after about a second of not taking damage, you can re-engage sprint. Nonetheless, sprint has been further nerfed by preventing shield recovery.

Halo 5 is on the right track with sprint. But I do think there is still room for improvement. Personally, i think a 20% base speed increase and simply a slower sprint speed would shift the needle of movement balance to the right spot.

There is no way 343 could release a bungie like game and not get sh*t on. You can’t beat them at their own game. I would have done the same thing in their shoes take halo where I want it to go NOW I would have never used REACH as my mold EVER :(. Halo 5 seems different but in a weird way feels like it would come after 3 and not after reach so Im happy. And I accepted not playing it like I play halo 3 (which is my favorite in the series and have 9 days worth of online playtime) I’ll always be able to go back and duke it out on MCC so I don’t mind this new direction I welcome it. Fair starts, no kill streak like mechanic thank lord Jesus

The number 1 argument is the effects it has on the map, not the cat and mouse gameplay. The changes to map design are FAR more influencial to how we play the game than the cat and mouse situations.

Thanks for letting me know how you will spend your money and time in the future. I can finally mark off this item on my bucket list.

None of that matters to me if it has Sprint.
Sprint is the equivalent of finding the perfect sports car only to realize that it’s an automatic.
Nothing else matters anymore.

I didn’t play a single second of the Halo 4 campaign, so I won’t be getting Halo 5 at all.

343 ruined Halo for me. I’m done with it.
The only way I’ll consider it is if they completely remove Sprint from all MP.

Oh I agree Halo 5 is a step in the right direction with regard to Sprint, but it feels like damage control at this point. I still don’t understand why I need to put my gun down to move fast, when a simple number change would have me moving plenty fast with much more dynamic control over the situation. Sprint in Halo 5 negated it’s need to exist as a mechanic.

If you’re done with it, then LEAVE. I’m not on anybody’s side, but these posts are irritating.

I feel sorry for you. Halo 4 had the best storytelling campaign out of all the Halos. Also, why are you on the forums for H5 when u never played Halo 4 and most likely will never play H5? Seems like a massive waste of time.

That is in no way sprinting, what is wrong with you?
