The lack of the red X when you die.

Am I the only one here who hates how this was omitted? It destroys the game competitively, almost as much as the ordinance system does.

I’m hoping 343i adds it back in the TU, they are already doing good things with the update. Crossing my fingers.

Yes. It was essential to playing with friends and taking advantage of chaotic situations, as well as locating snipers or campers.

Thanks for nothing, 343. Don’t mess with the formula.

The removal of death Xs has to be one of the most bewildering changes they made. Seriously, what possible reason could they have for removing them? HUD clutter? If the HUD being cluttered from icons was the issue, why didn’t they just remove the ordinance icons for world ordinances and remove random drops altogether?

Yep I miss it too.

It’s funny the game has been out for what almost 4 months? And to this day I still say “one shot on my X” even though I know it’s not there…343 plz don’t “fix” what isn’t broken anymore. I understand you guys wanted to make this “your Halo” but if you haven’t noticed by now not a lot of ppl aren’t very fond of “your Halo” and I’m sure that by the time Halo 5 comes out Halo 4 will feel like it was made by Bungie because of all the complaints that keep popping up… I would love to see the X come back in the TU.

Same here. Still say it.

I really miss those red X’s man…

I may not look like much 343i, but it’s actually a pretty big deal.

I find it odd this isn’t complained about more. I think anyone with any halo experience still says it aha.

Yes it needs to come back. 343 what are you doing!!!.

Needs to stay gone.

Learn how to make call outs based on map location and not some red x.

Side note, there is still an X on your radar. new playlist has radar that is allies only.

Agree 100%

When you are playing a game with randoms who hardly ever talk it’s much easier to get there attention with a big red x.

I actually worked at not using this callout, and never really appreciated it when it was used. I didn’t enjoy having to search around my screen for said X when a well communicated callout could tell me exactly where the action was.

I like having the X’s on my radar only, and believe this has helped me be more aware. I play as a random quite a bit, and I haven’t missed it one bit.

There were drastic spending cutbacks in the Spartan Program by the time they rolled out the IVs. Cheap wiring has been found to generate small magnetic fields in the helmets and gauntlets which become more pronounced when exposed to ammunition and flags.

The Office of Naval Intelligence determined the amount of Spartan IV lives saved by the installation of basic Red X technology did not necessitate a rearrangement of budgetary priorities. The Fallen Spartan Armor Recycling Program implemented instead has proven to not only be more cost effective, but has even begun to turn a small profit.

The Red X and firing indicators convey a lot more situational awareness about your team mates than most call outs.

I can’t think of any reason why it was removed.

Make them blue if you want but add them back in!

Suddely, i’m pretty sure it’s not possible, even with a TU =(

Yes 343. Let’s see the return of Red X’s! I understand it might add a little bit of clutter what with all of the ordinance, but it’s very worth having.

“On my X!”

  • realizes the only X they can see is on their radar, if they’re near, which is not ideal for BTB.

I think the X should stay on screen until you respawn; that would give players incentive to wait a few seconds before jumping back in.
