The lack of PvE is a huge miss

I can’t shake the feeling not having progression based PvE is a big missed opportunity.

I was hoping to see an expansion of loadouts from H4 and H5 warzone, where you can customize your gear, and select a class that offers you perks improving your abilities. For the classes we could dig up the old H4 specializations- wetwork, pioneer, engineer, stalker, operator, etc as well as add others.

As you play with a class it levels and gets more powerful, so you have a chance at taking on higher levels of difficulty on Firefight and Spartan Ops.

But clearly there is none of that. Feels like a huge miss.

I’m just hoping even for some basic PvE modes in the future, whether it be story driven (such as Spartan Ops but better), or non-story driven (such as FireFight).

If they do add FireFight I would also like the option to customise my experience similar to how it was done in Reach.

Yeah they have fallen short, the PVE market is huge. I think they will bring it in, they have 10 years to make it.

Forge-able AI’s would be nice as well. This has been wanted for years!

Yeah I love traditional firefight stuff, but I’d love to play custom games w/ a custom game browser with marines or flood or something. It could probably feel repetitive playing in the same lobby but then there should be more setting for the AI’s like attack and defend setting or something!

I wonder if we got a lack of PvE because they wanted us to buy the campaign

PvE probably wasn’t ready for launch but still, if their’s no co-op campaign then give us some PvE besides “marine boot camp” :face_vomiting:

Honestly wouldn’t be mad if they released battle pass/seasonal Co-Op PvE campaigns. To give the competitive scene a stable game play experience, and a completely separate experience for PvE players.

I mean there IS bot slayer which technically is PvE, and also the campaign if you want to mess around in the open world. There’s also the firing range if you want to try to three star the guns.

I think this game is suited very very well for Firefight, but remember that H5 did not have FF on launch, and Halo 4 released Spartan Ops in an episodic sequence, so you didn’t have all those at once either.

I am inclined to agree with you. Halo just has too much potential to not incorporate a very deep and fleshed out PvE. H4 Specializations and H5 Warzone variants absolutely is a great foundation to begin with. Add to that a “Spartan Ops 2.0” in terms of progressing narrative in various mission settings and we have something good to work with and build upon.

I really hope (and believe even) that something like this will come and grow over the course of Halo Infinite’s life cycle. It’s just a bummer that it isn’t at launch (again assuming that something like this could be). I really hope that whenever we get a road map for future content that something like this is on there.

You look at games like Gears of War, they got their PvE right. Gears 4 added class systems to horde (basically Firefight for those who don’t know) then further revamped it and added a new mode, escape, which is a lot like spartan ops in gears 5.

It was a huge hit.

I don’t understand why Halo can’t deliver as well.

Im hoping we eventually get firefight/spartan ops, warzone or players vs covies in a big multiplayer map with bosses like warzone but everyone is broken up in squads and most points total wins?

It would be nice to have something like Spartan Ops and/or Firefight. Something for the PvE crowd to progressive rank up. While the BOT combat feature is nice, the rank up with it needs some work or at least some customization.

I played a ton of Firefight in ODST and Reach, Spartan Ops in 4, and Warzone in 5. It’s really sad to not see it at launch. I like just zoning out and crushing aliens. It’s a great pastime.

The zone-out-crushing-aliens thing IS a great pastime!!!
Especially after a stressful day.

343 has this bad habit of over thinking and the results are not good… Spartan ops in halo 4 was their answer to reach and odst firefight and although maybe 18 people world-wide like it, the replay-ability factor was nil.

The answer is simple - bring back a halo reach and halo odst firefight either with aliens or bots and make it flexible so we can adjust the level of difficult… i too like to to just chill and blast aliens and so far the closest thing we have is bots but it really is just a tease for a real full blown firefight…

This ain’t hard 343, think of it as a spiritual reboot to the original firefight…

Woo Hoo!!! I must be one of the 18 people worldwide. (Shout out to the other peeps out there)

Seriously though, I get your point on it @L4WLTR0N. It may be good for season-to-season storyline(s). I am sure the replay-ability factor can be worked out. Right now, from what I see, a season is play some PvP and get pieces of gear and stuff.

Seasonal Ops could work in elements of story, PvP and PvE but not too heavy in one area and don’t overly grind the player to death (Hello Destiny). I can see a good balance with a decent reward system.
