The “Lack of Content” Talking Point is Hypocritical

What??? Old Halo’s had double the gamemodes at launch than Infinite does in 3 months!
They had forge, co-op, more modes, a stable multiplayer, everything was better!
It is not hypocritical to want something at launch that has been basic since the beginning of the franchise basically

well i mean that’s the thing. Halo Infinite was/is (I don’t even know if it is still at this point) supposed to be a 10-year live service game. And considering 343’s current status it’s going to take them time to get to the bar we’ve set for them.

And before you start screaming at me next, I had high expectations for Infinite as well. They even said during one of the live streams that there was going to be a legacy shotgun along with the Bulldog. But I mean even so, I’m actually fine with the current state of the game. It’s all about letting 343 take their time to address their own problems. Hopefully most of the problems in the game can be resolved by Season 2.

That brings me to another question: Is anyone from 343 on the forums?

They built this game around a Live service build, yet they are lacks Ng in. Actual service. The events have been at best meh. The fact that they designed such a terrible UI that it isn’t compatible with live service features like adding simple playlist is telling of the lack quality they have on their team.

How do you design a game that’s sapposed to have constant updates and make it to where even the slightest change breaks so much on it.

That’s like building a Lamborghini and it breaks anytime you go past 60 miles an hour and has to sit in a shop for weeks at a time.

And honestly I’m getting tired of the Oh just give it like 2 more years and it will get better BS excuses.

Not to mention the items in the store are at best meh. Who wants to spend money on generic default colors.

There is nothing about this game that makes me want to have good faith in 343 to deliver.

They built something that’s barely well held together, of they make the slightest change they break like 5 other things… Matchmaking is all over the place.

Dude honestly let’s be real l, behind the scenes the games code is probably my a mess. One small change and the game breaks.

Exactly how much more time should they been given…clearly an extra year wasn’t enough and they can’t even figure out their own content to show us a roadmap.

Everything we get from 343 is we hear your feedback we just need more time and we don’t know…

They really come off as Incompetent.

Ots a love service game that they themselves built as a live service but put in a UI that isn’t design for expansion or is an absolute task just to do something as simple as add playlist.

They rushed to scrap something together with ducttaped and didn’t fully think it through long term and are now trying to buy themselves more time.
They already hyped up season 2 but let’s be real 3 weeks before it releases if it ever releases there will be a blog post to not be to excited and that they promise Season 3 will have way better things and they are working on making sure it’s ready by season 3

I’m not silencing anyone, at all. I’m saying most of the negative discussion is just aimless whining, and this thread is certainly proving me right.

Did you read the OP? They hypocritical aspect is demanding new content while consistently playing the same thing over and over and over and calling it better in a different game.

An exact quote from a friend of mine being “Go play that game with no content all you want, I’ll be on MCC”, then proceeding to get excited about Last Resort one flag yet again for the gajillionth time. That’s the sort of thing people are doing widespread. They’ll complain about Infinite and then play something they’ve played for a long time the exact same way they’ve been playing it for a long time.

In some ways it must be a fear of change.

Do you know why we older or current fans compare the current Halo with past Halos? WE WANT THE GAME TO SUCCEED BUILDING ON SUCCESSFUL PAST INNOVATIONS.

We all went through the ‘lack of content’ twice already with Halo 4 and Halo 5. The quote, “those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it” encapsulates this whole argument we have going on now… again.

I also don’t like your generalization of players playing only one game type for one game too. You fail to notice or even realize that there are literal MILLIONS of different kinds of Halo players. Some like to forge, play competitive, race, or make machinima. All the Halos over the years were able to cater to specific tastes through the feedback provided by those various players.

Finally, those ‘complaints’ helped get 343 to put in playlists that should have been there in the first place. Those ‘complaints’ helped lower store prices. Those ‘complaints’ are putting their developers to work on the desync issues plaguing the player base.

Halo 4 had one of the best launches in the franchise, it had everything people needed and wasn’t a glitchy unplayable mess.

I was there, day one, I remember this. The worst thing about it was some balancing issues with the weapons that they fixed eventually.

That not hypocrisy.

Hypocrisy would be me saying I’m against all forms of camping while being the very first one to begin said camping.

My behavior is conflicting with my moral standards.

Yeah, it did have one of the best launches… for like the first 2 weeks of its release. Don’t try to simplify this again. There were loads of problems that kept on stacking upon each other after that grace period. There is a reason that Halo 4 is generally not as popular among all Halos.

That weapon balancing issue was solved due to the players’ feedback that you seem to not like.

Thank you :+1:

This is 343 3rd stick and it was the worst one out of them all.

That’s still not hypocrisy. Halo Infinite has great gameplay, but the older titles on the MCC do as well and have more content and variety. If Infinite launched in a far more complete state, things would be different. Hell, I love the campaigns, but I have to start all over with Infinite just to do certain missions. Any other game I can freely select whatever missions I want. I’m not a hypocrite if I prefer that to what Infinite does and offers.

that’s literally what I’m describing, its textbook hypocrisy

People are dogging on it because it’s a sequel, yet it has far less content.
There’s no Forge, Firefight, co-op or custom game browsing, and it’s lacking various other modes.
Then you have the overpriced campaign that has dull areas and bases, and doesn’t even have areas with snow, rain, etc. or a weather system.

It also doesn’t help that a lot of what’s there is broken.

As for using the features I mentioned, I don’t know about anyone else, but I spent a lot of time in Forge, Theater, custom games, matchmaking, co-op, etc.

Many games have launched with more content than Infinite did.
It’s not just the games that have been out for a while.

Maybe it’s more of an issue of quality.

I hate it when people say that because while there are times when people likely do complain just to complain, like “troll” and other terms, it’s often used when it doesn’t apply.

I’d say it isn’t, but complaining seems like the only thing that’ll help.

The lack of content argument is pretty simple, and none of the things you mentioned matter.
Objectively speaking, Infinite released with way less gameplay features than a 15 year old game

This should have never happened, and the fact that Dec 8 didn’t have massive additions to MP was a huge red flag that 343 has massively screwed up.

Anyone defending 343 over the clear and obvious lack of content is blind. It’s simple:

Maps: amount should have been double at launch
Game modes: should have been quadrupled at launch
Customization: the amount of customization is only better than CE, which is terrible.
Forge: should have been here a launch
Co-op: should have been here at launch

These facts are unarguable.

Wrong, it is not hypocritical to point out that Halo games launched over 12 years ago had feature complete releases on day 1. Cop campaign, forge, and firefight. Halo Infinite is dead on arrival, and its not like this is 343’s first halo game. 3 strikes for me and MANY others. They doubled down on riding the cash cow into the grave while collecting money from blind fanboy wallet whales.

You whined first making this assumption post. Don’t be upset when you learn that not everybody enjoys the mess of Halo Infinite’s launch. Gaslighting others over their opinions just shows how immature you really are when it comes to these topics.

Hey so I ended up redownloading COD warzone and dude it’s crazy, they have progression outside the BP and get this … they have weapon skins you can earn just by using the weapons.

I know right crazy
