The Knights are the Forerunners!!

The Promethean machines are the Forerunners. The Forerunners built the Halo rings to destroy all ORGANIC material, so all other types of mater should withstand the destruction. The Forerunners had a few escape plans, but they didn’t seem to work, due to Mendicant Bias, but what if they had an ace in the hole? An ultimate backup plan. They would use the Composer mentioned in Primordium to convert themselves into some sort of machines that couldn’t be infected by the Flood or damaged by the Halo rings firing. So in theory a Promethean is sort of an A.I. imprint of a long-dead Forerunner, similar to the Lord of Admirals coming back from the dead. And look at 343 Guilty Spark. After over a hundred thousand years of existence he went crazy, so its quite possible for the Promethean/Forerunner hybrids to become haywire or corrupted, perhaps by Mendicant Bias, the Precursors, or some new unknown threat. One of my friend’s theories is that some level of the Flood evolved beyond infecting organic material and could infect machines and computers, like some sort of advanced robot. What do you think about this whole idea?

EDIT: I just found out that the achievement for completing the seventh campaign mission is simply called “Composer”. This could mean a lot of things, but it definitely proves that it is involved in the game somehow.

Umm thats a cool idea but how about we wait a couple more days and find out for sure…but cool idea…really…uumm…really cool

The Gravemind in Halo 2 was able to conquer AI, but I do not know about controlling them.

Aren’t those “warrior machines” warrior servants of the Forerunners?

I am not sure if those are actual Forerunners, but just machines built by Forerunners like sentinels to be a better protection for the important Forerunners.

In the last Forerunner book it talked about how the sentinels were to maintain the Halos, not protect it, so maybe this are the actual protectors created by the Forerunners to serve on the Forerunner constructed planets.

Promethean Knights are warrior servants for the Forerunners. Yes, they are of Forerunner origin, but they’re not regular Forerunners. They’re built to protect shield worlds, and weapons.

Its like a Caste system of the Forerunners, you have your Warriors the Prometheans and you have your Builders, Miners and I think the last one is Lifeworkers. They are all Forerunners, just of a different specialization.

There basically the muscle of the Forerunners.

Didn’t read any of this. But please FFS please stop spoiling stuff it really ducks me off when people post spoil stuff if the header with out placing “spoiler” you nub, some of us like to not know what’s going on in H4

What was spoiled again?

What if the composer was still alive to turn them back in to organic forerunners?

I don’t know… Maybe the giant “the knights are forerunners”? Keep it spoiler free if all I’m asking.

I also think that the Prometheans are Forerunners turned into AIs. That one scene in the latest trailer where the Chief is in a big turquoise chamber and the Prometheans appear and a voice states that they are Forerunners, that scene is probably the level ‘Composer’. The Didact is a living Forerunner. And he uses the Composer to turn the AIs back into living Forerunners. That is something he could also do with Cortana.

It could also be possible that every Forerunner is made AI and put inside forerunner structures so the Didact would leave for, let’s say Earth and use the Composer to revive his wife that is an AI inside the Kenya portal. Would it make sense?

13 more days and we’ll know for sure

Very good theory and very plausible, but wasn’t requiem built from protection from the halo’s firing? meaning it protects any life on that planet.

If the remaining forerunners are all converted into AI’s or robots or whatever I would be very disappointed. I was hoping to see some actual forerunners in Halo 4, like this

That sounds right but knights have five thingers and a human like skull. if you were to take the robot part off you’d get someting the size of a person and didact is huge.

Don’t worry. It isn’t at all as the OP said.

It’s an interesting idea.

(Minor spoiler from the new trailer)

The end of the trailer said “the Forerunners have returned” and only Promethean Knights have been shown, so it might be possible.

speculation=/=spoiler.

That or the Didact turned them into his own personal army using the Composer instead of them doing it to themselves.

Well, you will see at least one Forerunner: the Didact. As we could see in the last two trailers, he is not turned into a Promethean Knight. THAT would be disappointing.

And no … Prometheans have NO fingers … not even hands

> That or the Didact turned them into his own personal army using the Composer instead of them doing it to themselves.

Now THAT would have been a valid reason to lock him away in a prison.
