That’s what they’re saying, but nothing is guaranteed.
Rumours are i343 is working on an unnanounced Halo, which if true very well could be a backup if Infinite fails.
Once you have in game purchases or charge money for the game, you’re open to criticism the same way you would be if you officially released.
Some of the planned events have leaked and it looks like these events will bring multiple different modes and playlists. So at the very least I think we’re going to get somewhat frequent updates to the number of modes and playlists.
Looking like modes and playlists that we have for a week and then are cycled out. Unless they drop more modes and playlists on the 8th, this looks like the trend for this season, 3 playllists, 10 maps and a handful of modes and an event playlist every couple weeks. Which is content lite.
Yup it’s sad seeing the people hopeful because “it’s a beta”, not realizing that’s not really the case considering this is all the content we’re getting at launch. I was playing with a few buddies earlier and they brought that up and they were not impressed when I told them the news lol
Best we can do is hold a tiny tiny tiny sliver of hope that they were lying about this being all of the day 1 content and they have a little morsel of something to give us on the 8th. Not holding my breath though.
what about fixing getting shot through walls and corners
It’s like when you go to an amusement park and there’s only 4 rides, but the gift shop is wide open
It’s absolutely a beta. They did multiple private flights for early tuning. Then they decided to release the flight version to the open public a couple weeks before release.
On release day, December 8th, we will see some changes. Will we see huge content drops? No, probably not. But we will see changes to the game based on our feedback, because that’s the purpose of a beta. Also, I do assume that we will see the UI change to give us more manual control over queues and gametypes come release. We’re getting randomized right now because that’s how you expose as many players to as many different maps and gametypes as possible. You know, because it’s a beta, and they’re looking for feedback.
This is a beta only cause they slapped a little tag on it to call it one. This is the day one content, maps, and modes according to 343 themselves. This isn’t a Flight build, this isn’t a 3 month old build, this isn’t a specific beta build, this is the retail product, dropped ~3 weeks early, tagged as Beta.
Sure they want to collect feedback, but this is also damage control and a fire break for them, the response would have been so so much worse if we hadn’t been given 3 weeks to tell them how much they’ve dropped the ball.
I expect we’ll see some changes by or for the 8th sure, but I can’t imagine it’ll do much other than bandaid fix a few things temporarily. I’m not anticipating more modes or playlists on the 8th based on 343’s word, and based on the fact they’re pulling Fiesta which indicates they’re holding modes for LTEs.
I’d love for the 8th to roll through and have them drop more playlists and have me be wrong, but I doubt it.
If so, Halo Infinite could die soon, buried by its own community.
It never ends well when a company does not listen to its community, see the case of Genshin Impact that its rating dropped to 1.8 or Battlefront 2 that had lawsuits for its extremely slow progression and abusive monetization.
I also experienced alot of incosistencies like:
- sword “reticle” not getting red when pointing on an enemy so it did not attack
- being shot as i already run around the corner, pretty sure it was due to latency and not curved bullets
- enemy shield complete down, 2 player shoting him, he survives and killed as both, also pretty sure latency / lag
and a lot of other issues
Dont know when there will be the next patch, new settings, adjustments, but im sure that patch and fixes will be made.
Yeah I am pretty much done with this game for now, the “honeymoon” phase is ending and the flaws are sticking out. The lack of playlists is #1 for me, followed by the lack of progression - but man I feel like the maps in this game are also pretty terrible and uncreative, plagued by the 3-lane map formula.
I’ll be back for the campaign, but I hate to see how little content is actually in the game right now.
I’d be fine with the maps and progression if we just had more playlists with stuff I actually want to play… I’m so bored of AR starts…
I don’t see a situation where they don’t release more playlists on launch. Playlists can hardly be considered content… they are just gameplay settings.
Yeah that seems to be the case.
It’s definitely not what I expected from the full release - especially if that’s all we get for season one.
Yea… SeaWorld in Orlando blows lol.
