The "it's just a beta" excuse

I’ve seen so many people say “it’s just a beta” to explain away many of halo infinites flaws weather that be the lack of real customization or the lack of different game modes well I hate to be the bearer of bad news but well here’s a quote straight from the “beta” launch announcement blog

“While you may experience some bumps and bugs during this beta period, it does mark the official start of Halo Infinite Season 1, with all day-one maps and modes enabled as well as the full Season 1 Battle Pass.” -https://www.halowaypoint.com/news/welcome-to-the-halo-infinite-mp-beta

So yea I wouldn’t expect anything to change come launch of course it is possible that 343 will scramble to change things for launch due to all the backlash on various issues but I wouldn’t bet on it

In other words we are all screwed unless we politely scream loud enough that 343 decides to fix some of their worst mistakes with Infinite multiplayer, such as the horrendous xp progression and challenge systems, the utter lack of real spartan customization, and the lack of a system for choosing only certain game modes such as slayer etc.

The sandbox is the best I have seen from Halo IMO, but all these other issues threaten to sink it if not addressed relatively soon.

The game has only been out a few weeks.

They will be accumulating data and reviewing feedback… and changes will come.

It’s a ten year game, designed to expand… so relax… the updates will come - big and small.

Getting hung up on what to call the current iteration… or trying to shoehorn dates is pointless. And people need to stop catastrophising changes into Dec 8th or never.

Give the game, and 343, a chance to draw breath.

I never said changes will never come my post is telling people who think we will magically get new content on December 8th to lower their
expectations since 343 themselves said that won’t be the case

This, pretty sure that there will be alot of changes like new maps, weapon adjustment and so on.
Maybe we will get an update on 8 december, just a guess

The point isn’t that there will never be updates. The point is more aimed at the people trying to shut down any valid criticism of the current game 'cause “It’s just a beta!” like the game is magically going to change into something else and gain a ton of content and new features on the 8th. Yes, the game will be updated with time. That doesn’t mean it’s invalid to criticize it now because in 6 months, 12 months, 3 years, etc it’s going to have more content.

They’ve had about 10 years of chances.

Unfortunately, not everybody wants to wait for a year or longer just to enjoy the game.

What about the quote from Brian Jarrard, the community director at 343, stating they’re going on break for the holidays after pushing out multiplayer a month before it was expected?

Where in that quote is it even IMPLIED that there will be new content specifically on December 8th

I never said anything about there being new content on the 8th.

I said exact what I meant. There’s not going to be any new content for a good while because they’re on break. A well deserved one.

Maybe chill out for the time being? Content tends to be a lot better when it’s not rushed.

I know I don’t want them to rush I’m just trying to get people to understand that we aren’t magically going to get new content on the 8th like alot of people seem to think for some reason we on The same page? i think we’re on the same page I’m starting to confuse myself I’m tired

I must admit, for day one it’s pretty light on content (particularly modes).

At the moment it’s still a lot of fun to play but it is a bit lacking and if they don’t add anything on December 8th then they’ll hopefully add some more modes after the first month or two.

I’m guessing at the very least we get regular ‘events’ which will hopefully bring a least one new mode on a regular basis.

Yeah I do hope there will be at least playlists available at launch, but I don’t expect it at this point. The change from beta to full game may fix the server tick rate though, and some of the matchmaking issues. That seems realistic to me at least.

Using the game being a “beta” as an excuse means nothing. Betas don’t happen 2 weeks before a game comes out. You can spend hundreds of dollars of stuff in the store so saying it’s hasn’t fully come out is nonsense.

It is not the beta it is the full game I know you love poppy 343. But don’t be one of those fan boys who just opens up their mouth while they’ll shovel s*** down your throat. They knew back in August when we brought this up during the real beta what problems was going to happen. They all set in a room and made a conscious decision to give us this b*******. Just like they made the conscious decision to not give us customization for 9 years. To only give us customization that we had 11 years ago.

Don’t hold your breath this is the same 343 they took 7 months to give us an infection playlist in Halo 5.
