The iSsue of sprint

The following is my opinion.

I don’t think sprint should be as a default or an aa in halo 4. I feel strongly about this. I think it makes the game way less fun to play. It’s not about being fair or balanced or any of that. It changes the game play enough so it’s not fun anymore for me. I have written this type of thread before but this I feel strongly.
My opinion is so strong that I would not buy halo4 if it had sprint. Remember those of you who get mad at this opinion of mine, it is my opinion.

I feel it’s many people opinion as well as I see it in other threads.

Mlg did a fantastic job with the zbns settings. I kept playing because of them and even started watching the youtube vids of it as well. . They are the most fun I had.

So in conclusion I would just like to keep it in 343 heads that there are many who want the halo 1 2 and 3 settings . And by that I mean no aa’s.

Thank you for your time.

Empire

Ps I hate all the aa’s too but wanted to especially focus on sprint in this thread.

Sprint was the most detrimental addition to Reach.

I agree completely.

I don’t see how sprint is a bad thing. Someone care to explain?

Everyone just runs away when they get shot and it destroys the games’ natural flow and pacing.

Sprint is essentially the same thing as armour lock. It’s just not as instantly annoying. It does posses the same negative attributes though. Even more so IMO.

I personally think it changes game play. I don’t like when people sprint away toward their teammates for help. I like the old style of play. I will not go into too much detail but something like that annoys me. Bottom line it changes things for the worse for me.

hmmm, do you think you can survive without aa’s? i mean c’mon, reach is the recent halo game, but i’m used to the aa’s in there, and if halo 4 doesn’t have it, i would be like :o and will have to cope with it…

Don’t mean to give ou a short response but the Knicks are playing.

Well I won’t turn against your “Freedom of Speech” or like you said “Opinion”.

But think this over…

If YOU were a spartan perse, and you were trying to save a group of civilians that were about to be slaughtered by covenant but you couldn’t run.

How exactly are you going to save them?

I’d rather not adapt or cope or anything. I’d rather play a game I like to play. It’s like chess. I love chess even though it’s not a quote un quote speedy game. It involves other things that make it one of my fav.

I understand the whole story behind the gameplay but I thought it was more fun in the old halos. I go by gameplay and notmhownclose to canon it is. I’d rather canon not interfere with my gameplay.

Also I think you do run at no sprint settings. It’s not as fast as sprint settings. I think to walk you just push the analog slightly.

Ok commercial. I’ll give 2 examples of what I don’t like

One , in zealot sprinting on the top level between protection from the arches takes away from people shooting them in an efficient manner as they go . That annoys me.

Two, in. The shotgun tunnel on asylum if you are shooting them and they sprint away that annoys me because I feel it’s a more fun game if you really need to put a lot of thought into going into the shotgun tunnel. Now true it takes thought to know whether or not you should run in the direction you are headed but and this is a big but the long range dmr battle is ruined and bypassed due to someone running away.

I think the only reason why Reach has sprint. Is do to the slower movement of the Spartan III. When you’re sprinting I think you’re moving as fast as you did in the previous games. So if Halo 4 retains the previous movement speed. I don’t think it’s going to have sprint in it. Because there was no reason to have it unlike in Reach do to slower movement speed.

Is the reason people don’t like sprint because when people get shot they run away, if so why not make sprinting slower I at least think this would solve the problem.

By shooting the aliens?

I would do the smart thing and use a gun like any spartan with a brain would do. I don’t care if they can sprint in canon or cut scenes but what we’re talking about is sprint during GAMEPLAY. I personally am against sprint as it never felt right to me to play with in a Halo game.

I don’t get their logic about sprint. Like what you said. They hate it because it makes people run away. People ran away in Halo CE, Halo 2, and Halo 3. Those games didn’t have sprint. So how did they manage to run away when the games didn’t have sprint?

I completely disagree. In fact, if the Halo series doesn’t move forward and stays the same as previous halo’s, I won’t be purchasing the game. Well, won’t enjoy it anyway. Most other FPS’s of this age have sprint and Reach had it. I also don’t see how sprint affects the game whatsoever, only making it slightly less annoying to have to walk miles in BTB.

I agree. The only thing sprint does is make you move faster.
