So the 343 forums are generally made up of casual players. So I wanted to share a couple of quotes from around the web from the competitive community and long time Halo players.
“I don’t believe 343 are capable of making this bigger mistake”
“Did they just take everything good in Halo and throw it out the window”
“That’s Halo in the bin”
“343 are murders they not only killed Halo but a massive chunk of the community”
“Stabbed in the back. AGAIN”
“I thought Reach was bad, but to do it again”
From a Pro Player you can check out Tyler Blevins Twitter
“If there are any call of -Yoink!- settings implemented into halo 4 I can guarantee a flop, #keephaloHALO”
“Now I have heard this news I want to streak through 343’s front door and shout “Halo 4 should be as naked as me” as I spin my private parts around in the air” THAT WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT
“+1 Suicide, Halo’s gone soon am I” Really, I know I am devoted but seesh some people take it too far
“When did 343 sell Halo out to Activision”
“COD Fans supported Halo at Columbus recently I guess now they are laughing at us”
“GAME OVER”
“OMG THEZ HAZ KILLD HALOZZZ”
“I Hope, for the first time that I was trolled”
> I’m a long time Halo Fan. You can quote me saying Halo 4 is going to be a lot of fun and I can’t wait to play it!

So because the game has changed a bit, it’s not Halo anymore?
last time I checked, Halo Wars is a Halo game. It’s a completley different genre.
At least 343 are giving me a good reason do do other things in my life…

Ok I take that back. Why, oh why would they ruin a game like this The flaws are so obvious and has been for the past years. Why don’t they just fix them. It really isn’t that hard.

I could see them doing this but why do this when u got a s.h.i.t. Load of not good but awesome games coming out in fall. That now you have to compete with. Why do that to your selfes why not come back with a mp like h3 (not the same thing) and the new halo story (only thing in it for now, returning it the same day cause I no I can beat it by 7am did h3) it’s just dumb on a business position. If halo 4 flops they can blame it on this leak at least and past the buck like reach

Halo Wars is a Halo game (kinda), but Halo Wars didn’t try to be a first person shooter. It’s not like they tried to make an FPS called Halo: Onyx then went “Opps I dun made it a strategic gamez! WE DUN GOOFED! Oh well let’s just release it, and say it meant to bey a strategy game.”
Halo 4 was meant to be a Halo game, a direct continuation from the great trilogy, they even said in the first look that they were taking Halo back to its roots to what all Halo players loved. Since when did we love Armour abilities, seeing through walls, instant respawns, (for some people) no Elites?

That’s because it still felt like Halo and it was meant to break the experience to a different genre. Halo 4 is a re-skinned Call of Duty game.

See, this is the problem. What IS a Halo game? I’d describe it as a game set within the Halo Universe, just like I’d describe a book set within the Halo Universe as a Halo book.
Halo 4 is a Halo game. It’s supposed to be an FPS and it IS an FPS. Just because it’s changing and adding more to the Halo Formula doesn’t mean it’s not a Halo game. It doesn’t mean it’s Call of Duty. Frankie has said that it plays like a Halo game. We haven’t seen any of the things mentioned in the article in action but people are jumping on the “Halo 4 is copying Call of Duty” and “Halo is dead” bandwagon as if they’ve played the game. We haven’t even seen a proper piece of gameplay footage yet.
I’m not saying people should blindly praise the game but they shouldn’t bash it without actually seeing how these new changes affect gameplay.

How? This franchise got me through a lot of hard times and picked me up when I was so far down.
How is it insane that I feel sorry that a big part of my life is being destroyed before my eyes?

a game is defined by the concepts it includes, not be its name.

Same here, everyone says “Yo bruh it beez justz a game, get a life Loser”. THE PROBLEM WITH THAT IS… HALO WAS A LARGE CHUNK OF MY LIFE. And people tend to get upset when large chunks of their lives are altered… no raped, against their wishes, just to get a few more COD children to buy it, play it for a month, then leave, leaving hardcore fans like us to play a game for years on end, that was designed for COD Trash.

I don’t define a Halo game by it’s name, I define it by the Universe it’s set it. For example, if a new Gears of War RTS came out which takes place between Gears of War 1 and 2, it’d still be a Gears of War game because it takes place in the Gears of War Universe/Canon/IP.
Halo 4 is a Halo game. It’s isn’t a CoD game. Having Sprint and Customisable Classes doesn’t make it a CoD game.

It does. It’s getting to the point where the only difference is the name.
