How do i know if i am in the test flight ?
You should get an email stating so I would assume.
If you are accepted into a flight you will get an email containing all of the relevant information from 343. Email will be the main method of communication here so be sure to keep an eye on both your inbox and your spam folder.

343 said that they will notify everyone when flight emails begin to go out. Regardless if any of us are accepted or not, we’ll all know flighting is starting.

Means you’re in the program, yep.
No test flights invitations have gone out yet, though.
You’ll get the invites likely just before your test flight period.

That’s just the “Welcome to Halo Insider” email. Its just updating those that aren’t keeping up with the updates on Waypoint. There’s a whole FAQ about this at the top of the Halo Insider forums.

You’ll know that you have been accepted into a flight when you get an email telling you that you’ve been accepted into a flight.
Seem a bit blunt I know lol, but I don’t mean it as blunt as it comes across 
343 aren’t ready just yet to start flighting, but as soon as they are you can bet they’ll be letting you know. I imagine we’ll get a heads up a day or 2 in advance that things are about to kick off and when to expect and an email dropping into your inbox.
Remember that the first flight or 1 will be pretty limited and most people will not get in. That doesn’t mean you can’t take part, just means you’ll be waiting a little longer to jump in on the action.
To re-iterate: any current emails you have are not confirmation that you have been accepted into a flight
You will receive an e-mail inviting you to the flight assuming you are flight ready.
Each time I receive an email I hope it’s halo. And then it’s something else.
