The Infinite Invites Were Handled Poorly

I’ve been signed up for over two years for Halo Insider with the expectation of being able to participate in Infinite previews, and it honestly really bothers me that people who signed up the day of the announcement got invites while I’ve been waiting literally for years. I know I’m not the only one in this boat, considering that Ace also somehow managed to not get an invite.

How are y’all gonna give invites to people who are JUST joining the program this week and not long-time Halo veterans who have been excited for Infinite for years? I can tell you that I know some people who have stopped playing Infinite already, and it is such a slap in the face for people who actually want to play in the flighting to watch other people complain about it and say they’ve uninstalled or stopped playing.

On top of that, you’re also missing out on the best bug catcher in video game history, I’ve found some wild and wacky -Yoink- over the years including I know what causes the sword bug in MCC H3 and can repeat it with really high success. The bottom line is that by not including people like me in the preview, you’re shooting yourself in the foot. You won’t get the data you want on the bots because people that you have given access to simply won’t play bots all day with the intention of learning the game’s mechanics, improving their skills, and finding bugs to be squashed.

Longevity of being a Halo fan or Insider weren’t the main criteria for selection during this flight. I’m sure it’s not a case of 343i having something against you personally.

Missing out on things is something that happens a lot in my life, wish it wasn’t the case with the infinite flight at least, I was so eager to participate. So far I have only really done the single player flights since the PC version of Halo 3 was fighting so I guess that’s why I wasn’t included myself but I actually wanted to do this one regardless.

You’re way too old to be crying over not being invited. Considering you only registered 2 years ago, you are nowhere near the length of the majority of Halo insiders. I also see you play on xbox, which btw, this is a technical Beta where they are testing different hardware’s as well as show off what they have for us. Maybe invest in a good PC and you’ll get three times the chances of getting and invite.

The fact you are making a post bashing on 343i instead of just being grateful you took part in the two other flights… We don’t need toxic people who think they deserve the world here. Some people got invite, some haven’t. Just like life, I’m sorry that 343 hasnt made you their priority but take it to twitter.

Bro I think more PC players where invited than Xbox due to the vast differences of set ups that players can have on PC.

I’m on pc, no idea where you get that I’m on xbox. And my main point is that people who signed up years ago should be given priority than randos that signed up the day of the invites going out. If you’d actually read then you would have understood that.

It all depends on your hardware sent in with DxDiag. If you don’t have one of the newer Cards that are currently “hot” right now, maybe you had less of a chance of being selected. Keep your fingers crossed, apologize for whining and hope you’ll get invited to the next one. Shouldn’t be too long

It should never be really. I have been playing Halo and a huge fan since the original. I have done a lot of testing on games and provided feedback. Get a lot of pre-alpha and alpha invites on a lot of games and even tested Halo 2 before release. Live as well. Halo 2 Live testing was one of my favorite times ever as that game was a huge favorite of mine for a long time. And if I had not been invited I realize these things are often random on tests like these. I did not even expect it. Was surprised I got in.

Really hope they get out a test that gets others in soon. And also get out a test that allows us to get some friends in. Maybe give insiders a way to invite a friend or two through their MS accounts or something. Would love to play with a team just to test that.

Your invite idea doesn’t sound half-bad. It’d certainly be a way to encourage interest into the game, before launch, and get people talking about Infinite.

random selection doesn’t care about how long you’ve been waiting, how much of a fan you are, or your bugfinding abilities

Sometimes the devs are looking for specific things to test. There was a flight once for windows 7 users, i didn’t get invited becasue i was running 10. Think of it as a raffle, buying a ticket doesn’t garuntee a win just like how signing up for flighting won’t garuntee a flight invite.

The problem is… it’s not random. I digress that I can guarantee I was passed over for someone on equivalent equipment to me, but they have to test specs from all ends of the spectrum from -Yoink- laptops to $10k setups so someone who’s kinda right in the middle like me ends up losing out for not being on either extreme.

I’m unable to join either, i live in Australia, use xbox and have not received an email about it in the slightest, I would think that allowing other Australians like me to join in would help them check the Australian or nearby servers, but nope I haven’t heard anything, though than again I only just realised that halo insider was a thing 2 days ago so I only signed up recently, but still I would absolutely love to have a chance at joining over the people that are only there to play it before anyone else and that don’t report the problems but just complain about it and call it “Buggy”. But meh that’s my 2 cents on the current situation.
Oh yea and also I’m a fellow long time Halo vet, been playing since the fine days back in 2007 and I played it on the original xbox, oh boy were those the day’s.
Oh furthermore the exact same thing happened with the Fallout 76 BETA where people only joined to play it before everyone else and they complained so much about it as opposed to actually reporting the bugs, i mean have you seen the amount of rant videos about the game when it was literally in beta and in that under fully informed stress testing… -_-

you’re clearly just mad you didn’t get in

Sorry you didn’t get selected, but perhaps try to move on? No use crying over spilt milk.
