The Infinite Ghost Is The Best In The Series

Hey everyone I just wanted to create a forum about how much I think the Halo Infinite Ghost is perfect and should not be nerfed or changed in anyway. Honestly I think it’s the best vehicle in the game so far. Let me know what you guys think of the Halo Infinite Ghost.

I think it’s too agile considering it’s durability vs a multi-person vehicle like the hog. It seems like there isn’t much reason to boost to get in and out of situations because the strafe speed is so fast.

Is it the best in the series? Maybe. But I don’t know if it’s balanced.

The strafe and reverse seem about 20% too fast. I just need to get used to it.

I had so much fun using the ghost in the flight. Felt fast, agile, and not awkward to use. The cannons were also pretty powerful which I loved. 343 please dont make any changes to it!!!

I don’t agree on it being good, I think it’s too strong, possibly not for BTB, but for 4v4 it is. Halo struck a good balance between being on foot or in vehicles, feeling good to shoot or shot at (minus the gauss hog), you still felt strong on foot. The Ghost is miles better than the player in Infinite.

  • The non-boost speed increase from other games means it’s much more difficult to hit the driver and easier for the driver to kill players
  • there is no gas canister to blow up which makes the vehicle much more durable
  • the range and accuracy of the guns allows you to crossmap opponents on behemoth, 2-3x more than it should be capable

aka too fast, too durable, too deadly. The only saving grace is shock weaponry allowing for easy disables, which imo also feel cheap and unfun. Without it or an opponent holding it, you’re at the mercy of the vehicle much more than you ever were, there is little counterplay without shock weapons.

I liked the Ghost the few times I hopped in it. I do think it is a tad bit overpowered as it currently is. As TheCelticDragon mentioned, it’s not as glaring on BTB, but every time I played Behemoth 4v4 I felt like I was getting mowed down consistently by the Ghost. I was running for cover every time I saw a Ghost on Behemoth; I’d scoff each time someone tried to use the Warthog because 95% of the time it was dispatched much more easily than the Ghost. Maybe the Ghost needs a slight nerf on the speed and/or health of the vehicle, and/or the Warthog needs a buff (imo).

It’s not balanced at all. Very, very, very confused why the Ghost completely shreds while the warthog (which requires way more effort to use), is almost not worth entering.

It needs a slower maximum turn rate independent of player point of view so that it’s not completely busted on Mouse. Otherwise I think it’s fine.

the warthog and ghost have definitely been buffed due to shock weapon EMPs and I’m not a fan.

I completely agree. The Ghost is an agile menace that can be taken down with an EMP, Grappleshot, a Rocket Launcher, or a Sniper/Skewer quite easily, but to compensate for that, you’re pretty much screwed if you don’t have the proper tools to take it down. That’s how it should be; the Ghost needs to be clearly superior to a Spartan that doesn’t have high-tier power weapons or a loadout specifically designed to counter it. That’s why Halo 4’s iteration was my favorite… until this one.

All of this being said, I would also argue that it is unbalanced when compared to the rest of the vehicle sandbox. The rest of the vehicles feel way too weak, especially the Banshee, leaving the Ghost as the most powerful vehicle in Infinite. That’s a sentence I never thought I’d say.

Isn’t any ghost just a straight upgrade for a Spartan? Unlimited ammo, many times faster, harder to kill, etc? It’s a bottom tier vehicle. It should be countered by good play and/or teamwork. Just by its nature its already going to win most every 1v1 vs infantry. You shouldn’t have to have the “proper tools.”

This philosophy (rock, paper, scissors) actually more or less encapsulates the entire problem with how BTB has been balanced for Infinite.

It shouldn’t be “well then just go get a grapple shot then.” The grapple should be like the sniper when it comes to jacking vehicles–an obvious and powerful upgrade that still requires skill to execute. It shouldn’t be rock to the ghosts scissors. That’s so flat and boring. Similarly the ghost shouldn’t be the scissors to the infantry’s paper.

Skillful play needs more a part in the equation. An adept ghost driver should be hard to take down–not any and all ghost drivers to the point players need to go and find the correct counter.

I think it’s a little bit overpowered, especially when you compare it to some other vehicles from the game

I think this version of the ghost is good, but like others have said, maybe slightly too speedy or agile. It seems to be more durable than the Hog which feels wrong to me. If anything I think they should swap durability. I also find it weird that it travels at an angle faster than it does forward or back. That should be changed too IMO.

I like it generally, but the movement feels a little too jolty. I found it easier to move sideways than go in a forward curve when going around the map.
