The Infection Discussion Thread for Halo 4

What are you hoping to see in Infection in Halo 4? What are some of your ideas that you think that MUST be included?

Here are some of my ideas! :3

  1. Zombie Assassinations

What I would like to see are special assassinations for the infected. Like real gruesome assassinations! Let me suggest what kind of assassinations I have in mind.

Assassination idea 1: The zombie is behind a spartan. He uses his claws to rip open the back of the human and sends little parasites to enter the spartan. The human is infected.

Assassination idea 2: The zombie jumps on the back of the spartan and the spartan falls on the floor. The zombie bites the spartan in several places and vomits on the spartans head which burns. The spartan is infected.

Assassination idea 3: An option for infection which can be turned on/off. When on, the zombie can leave a trap on the map for the humans. However, he can only do this once during a respawn. So when the human steps on the trap, an infected tentacle pops out and grabs the spartan. The tentacle then breaks into the visor of the helmet and bites in the spartans face. The spartan is infected.

Now assassination ideas for the humans.

Assassination idea 1: The human grabs the zombie from the back and inserts a grenade in the inside of the zombie. If you don’t have a grenade you grab its heart and crush it.

Assassination idea 2: The spartan jumps on the zombie and it falls. The spartan will then stab the zombie with his knife so many times that the zombie will be pulverized.

Assassination idea 3: The human grabs the zombie from behind and tears it into 2 pieces and punches it back together.

Those were some of my assassination ideas. Now I want to talk about…

The Zombie and Human Appearances!

You can have the zombies in 3 ways.

Way 1: Zombie with broken armor and blood spatters around the armor and a crack in the helmet.

Way 2: The same, but then with FLOOD added parts on it.

Way 3: Full Flood forms.

I would also like those tiny helmet lights for the spartan which you can use for in the darkness. Like those ones from Halo: CE. I also want spartans and zombies be able to get cracks in their HUD like in the final mission of Halo; Reach.

That is all I got for the appearances.

Now it is time for…

The Atmosphere

I want Infection to be scary. So I suggest the following ideas that I got for it.

1: Make it darker and add some fog or mist.

2: Be able to forge dead bodies and blood around your map. Or better yet, make a special infection forge mode!

3: Make it hard to kill the zombies so that you want to stay with your team and not run to get get some quick kills.

4: Add music of some kind. That really adds to the scaryness of infection. Maybe have a radio play some scary music.

5: Let the sky be scary. Make it dark red with scary stuff or something.

6: Great light effects. Nothing is as creepy to see a scary shadow around the corner of a zombie nearing you.

That’s all I got for the atmosphere.

Furthermore I want to see…

Zombie Claws

Seriously, I had it with those swords. I mean they are fine and all, but not really scary. So why not let the zombies use their deadly claws this time instead of swords?

And now I want to say something about…

Infection Respawning

When a human gets infected I want him to get up from the floor where he died when he turns into a zombie. Only when he gets killed that much that his body explodes into pieces he will respawn in a safe spot.

Infection Gametypes

I want to share some of my ideas that I got for gametypes for Infection.

Gametype 1: Stay out of the Darkness

When the round started there are several places with lights. Humans must stay out of the dark to survive so they have to get to these lights as fast as possible. The zombies will get killed by big lights so they have to keep themselves out of the lights, only the little helmet flashlights won’t harm them. If the zombies do get in the big lights they will instantly die and their bodies will catch fire.

Now the humans probably think they are safe for the rest of the game, well they’re not. Zombies can sabotage the source of the big lights by breaking a generator which takes care of the light. If the zombies manage to destroy such a light generator the humans must quickly find another spot with big lights. However, they must stay together as a team and help eachother when in trouble. It is also very dark so that’s why the humans get those little helmet flashlights.

Maybe it needs some improvement, but you understand what I mean.

Gametype 2: The Mother of Zombies

As the round starts there will be 2 kinds of zombies. 2 fast but weak zombies, and a rather large and big Mother zombie (kinda like the Fat Kid Zombie). The Mother zombie is big and very strong and is hard to kill.

This time you can stop the Infection! The only way to do this is to simply kill the Mother zombie which won’t be easy because she is incredibly strong. To kill the Mother Zombie the humans must crush its heart. When they did that, all the infected zombies will automatically die in the game. But the humans must stay alert and aware of the fast and creepy zombies that are coming to get them.

This may need some improvement, but you know which way I’m heading to with this idea.

Idea 3: Survival

Just like the other Halo games this is survival. Stay a human for as long as you can with your team. But now this gametype has extra stuff in it like I mentioned in this post. So this time it will be a lot better and scarier.

Last Gametype Idea: Annihilation

You starts with a tiny group of spartans in a big and dark closed map (something like Blood Gulch). You start in a tiny base with your team where you can grab some weapons. You can stay in the base, but surviving will be less easier. Outside there are 2 vehicles. 2 Warthog Gunners. You must kill all the zombies in the game in order to survive and win.

The zombies which have started on different places around the map must find a way to kill all the humans in order to win. The zombies must play stealthy so that they won’t get easily killed by the warthogs.

Both the Humans and the zombies have 1 life in this gametype. So be carefull if you want to win!

Well those are some of my ideas I got for Infection for Halo 4. What are some of your ideas that you think MUST be included in Infection for Halo 4?

Also, lets try and keep these threads alive in the hopes for 343 Industries to consider these ideas and add them in Halo 4! :smiley:

I mean normal zombies with armor like spartans and elites. But then with blood spatters on it and broken/rotten armor. I also mentioned the same armor but then with FLOOD parts added onto them. :slight_smile:

I like! Especially the stay out of the darkness part, that would be a fun gametype

I say we condemn Infection back to being Zombies on Foundation.

Good old simpler times.

I like it. I would love for the Infected to look like flood. The gory assassinations are cool too.

This are all great ideas after my opinion, i have always liked zombie games, but i think halo can bring it to new levels with some of your ideas.

Why would they waste so much effort into one playlist which doesn’t even have a great population to begin with?

I miss the times when the beauty of Halo was in the creativity of the community to come up with ideas with the limited options available to them.

I even remember all the great maps made before Foundry was even released. Your post is unrealistic and ridiculous to say the least.

Come on man. Infection was good in Halo 3. But some more options would be great to make it scary and work as a team.

Look at Halo Reach its Infection. It sucks. I’m sorry to say that and wish it didn’t suck, but it does unfortuneatly. If Halo 4 will be the same kinda, then you can leave infection out for my part…

I want Infection to be something special! A lot scarier and better! :3

This is actually a MUST in Halo 4’s Infection. Many people wanted this for Reach but it didn’t happen. :frowning:

No infection, besides maybe weekend/even less frequent playlists.

I just want them to make a more balanced, competitive and enjoyable core game.

No infection? What’s wrong with you? Infection is the most awesome gametype ever! Especially the funny gametypes that were made. But it would be even better with all these options! Say no to no infection!

Well if you bring back Alpha zombie and some more customizable features with infection Ill be more than happy you don’t need anything special, however a feature in forge that allows you to make it night on all maps (not the fx stuff I mean something that puts a moon up in the sky) would be nice along with a diffrent type of species when your a zombie like

Humans=Spartans/Elites
Zombies=Flood

I think Infection needs out of the next Halo’s matchmaking,
However I wish and hope that they make a custom browser like kinda how CE PC was setup to allow you to find any custom game anyone setup within the system I wrote about it more detailed in my forum (at the bottom):

Zombies has never been the same since Halo 2. I miss you Zombie Survival on Headlong :*(. Or Regular zombies on foundation. I believe it was due to the awesome pistol (for zombies only cause in regular games it was awful) or things like yelling at the guy who didn’t switch teams when he got infected. Or using crates on foundation to build barriers. It may never be the same.

Infection should still be in matchmaking. But maybe only in rumble pit and exp weekend like in Halo 3.

But in Forge mode you should be able to add more than only the moon… You should be able to add fog or mist, dead bodies of spartans/elites and the flood. Also you must be able to make the sky dark and scary.

And the zombies shouldn’t only be the flood but humans and elites aswell. Like this.

Humans: Spartans, Elites.

Infected: Spartan/Elite with rotten and broken armor and blood spatters on armor.
Spartan/Elite with rotten and broken armor and blood spatters on armor AND Flood parts added on it.
Gore Flood forms.
