The inevitable drip feed of content post launch...

I remember Halo 5s disastrous launch and how we had to wait 9 months for the Forge and infection.
it was the most gruelling process and did irreparable damage to the trust, respect and good will 343 had built up with the Community, please do not repeat the same mistakes.

Delay this game!

I mean, you could just wait until those features are in the game before purchasing? It’s ultimately the same thing. The game has been delayed long enough.

if the story mode is everything we expect and the multiplayer is fun, that won’t be missed.

I still to this day have not touched halo 5. I hope I don’t have to do the same with infinite

A games first impression is everything. If the game releases in a similar state to Halo 5 you’re going to have the larger community essentially “move on” from the game. The player base will… again shrink drastically as there won’t be much else to do other than slayer and arena… which is pretty much all I play. But if we care about the health of the game, we desperately need that casual audience to stick around. We need the creative types as much as we need the competitive players. When forge drops in 6 months the hype from the release will have gone, and the gaming community at large will just shrug their shoulders and move on. A few might dabble in the game mode, but you’re not going to have that explosion of hype and excitement that you had… in say… Halo 3 or Reach. Those games still thrive today because of that fantastic first impression.

That’s too bad. The MP is stellar.

First impressions of Halo: Infinite have been generally positive by those who have played it, and that flight was from an earlier build. Not that I don’t agree with what you say but Halo: The Master Chief Collection arguably had a worse launch than Halo 5: Guardians did, and because of the content that game is now receiving (and with it being made available on PC), it has attracted players again. As long as the content is free and good, it will draw the players back.

I think Halo MCC is a bad example. Halo MCC by nature is preying upon the nostalgia of millennials. You have people like me who have such a love for these games, that I pushed and fought and suffered through the abysmal MCC launch. The game is great today, but in many ways it’s too little too late. The OP’s issue is that 343 has a habit of releasing half baked games, and then slowly marching out content that used to be standard for a Halo Release and then patting themselves on the back. I see this as halo’s last good solid shot of being a tier 1 shooter. If halo infinite launches and it’s missing core game-modes, or is missing custom games modifiers like halo 5 did. Or put’s the competitive community… myself included, ahead of everything else. The game is simply going to be a foot note among a sea of other games that battle for peoples attention. I want Halo to succeed, I think Halo is the best game that has ever existed. I think that the TTK is perfect and is about as competitive and varied as any shooter can be. The thing that makes halo not fun to play anymore is the fact that every time a game launches, within 6 months the game is essentially dead, and the last 1000- 2000 people playing are diehard sweaty fans like me. Then when any new players join, they just get their hopes and dreams destroyed and the move onto something more casual like COD. Halo NEEDS that playerbase.

Yeahh I’m pretty annoyed that when the game comes out coop isn’t going to be there… would always spend the launch night doing the campaign on legendary with friends as our first impression but now we’re all going to have to play it separately to begin with since we don’t really want to wait and have potential spoilers ruin the story before we play.

Don’t worry man!!! According to the apologists on this Forum, you can simply… replay the game again in a few months when Co-Op comes out… you know… after you’ve already put 30-40 hours into it… and are bored of it… and don’t really care anymore…and will never be able to have that first time experience with your best friend/spouse.

I’m waiting for someone to reply to this… “well wait then to play the game”… to that I say… you’re missing the point here.

What is the point really? If you’re willing to have the game delayed again, what is the difference in just waiting? If the core multiplayer and solo campaign are go to go, then let them loose for the people who don’t care about coop or forge.

Reddit and the forums here are pretty good at keeping spoilers locked down post launch for people in these situations, so all you really would need to do is mitigate and mute social media channels to avoid any campaign spoilers.

This whole debacle seems so silly to me. You can’t have what you want, so nobody else should be able to enjoy it either.

Tbh i forgot about the 9 months because i stopped playing Halo 5 consistently.

If I we’re to wait til coop was released before experiencing the campaign then I’d have to pretty much not use facebook or youtube or talk to anyone who plays it because 343 can’t get their -Yoink- together. I’m confused as to what the hell they we’re going to release before they had to delay it the first time…

If multiplayers all good to go and they fix the xp for challenges only issue then sure release multiplayer but delay the campaign release until it’s actually 100% resdy to go, missing coop is not ready…

We’re definitely to the point where we have enough threads where people are sharing their thoughts on delaying the game. We don’t need another.
