As somebody who is strongly against pre-ordering, I might just pre-order the collectors edition. They hype is overwhelming, even if I disagree with some multiplayer choices, the campaign looks way too good. Last time I was hyped, destiny happened, lets hope this outcome is not the same.
Remember the end to shadow of the colossus where wander is being sucked into the pit? That’s me trying to resist the hype right now, and inevitably failing.
No one should pre-order the standard edition of anything.
If you really are intent on pre-ordering a collectors edition at least wait until you know what it contains.
As far as the campaign goes we have only seen some story beats and little else, I don’t know why anyone would get hyped about the campaign until E3 when we will likely see the first campaign gameplay.
If you really like what you see, then preorder. It’s all your opinion. I’m saving up for a preorder. In the end, it’s all your decision. Though if I were you, I’d wait until E3. Just another month, and you’ll have a full look.
If you haven’t learned anything from the last year and half, then you would give in to another hype train that has the potential to derail, crash, and burn. Besides, if you build up the discipline and fortitude, it becomes laughably easy to brush off hype trains.

I pre order for the bonus… standard, LE, whatever…
but other than that, there is no reason to pre order.
I’ll pre order at best buy, gamestop and Walmart… get all 3 bonuses… and return 2 copies back. Just how I am lol
Come to the hype side - lol
Anyway i’m pre-ordering the collectors edition i can’t wait for this game. I am still wondering what the statue will look like.
Somehow, I feel no hype whatsoever. I see all these people getting hyped over this game after a beta and a few trailers, but I don’t understand how. And it’s not that I can’t feel hype, I was extremely hyped for the MCC (see where that got me?). The gameplay style didn’t really appeal to me, and the campaign trailers seemed rather vague. The Chief and Locke trailers got me intrigued, but not hyped. The gamestop one was just meh. Until 343I announces something that actually interests me(Playable Elites, for instance), I’m staying off the hype train.

I’m loving Halo 5’s direction of far… ESPECIALLY the campaign and story.
However, I’ve always been the type of person who has the mindset of having high hopes BUT low expectations. It does NOT have to be 343i or Halo related. It could be Rocksteady, Bethesda, Naughty Dog, best NBA team atm, a movie with an AMAZING director, best selling author, and etc.
The reason why is if the worst DOES happen, I won’t be too disappointed. I won’t have had that false hope.
Sure… You can say that a person, company, team, or what/whoever has had an amazing track record, but it does NOT change the fact that anything can happen. Because you never know… anything really can happen. Look at the old Superman movies (Christopher Reeve). The first two were critically acclaimed. The 3rd and 4th… were very bad.
I am personally REALLY excited and hyped for Halo 5. But I am also prepared for the worst. So in case if it does happen, I won’t be dealing with a ton of emotional damage to myself.

That’s a good way to be. Sadly, that won’t be the case for me. I spent a good portion of this year nurturing this game. If it fails, I will probably feel like crap for a while.

I would be careful. Knowing 343i’s history you should not be optimistic.

Do you really think you’re still going to be able to find an available copy of the Limited Collector’s Edition to pre-order? My Gamestop sold out in like two weeks, and the other stores are usually not far behind.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every game and every entry to the Halo universe that they have made. They have yet to give me a reason to not be hyped for Halo’s future.
