Howdy Waypointers!

If any of you have watched the preview to Ep. 5 of The Sprint you will have noticed that the devs mention the Hydra. This is the super secret new grenade launcher looking weapon. As the short clip of it has shown, it fires explosive (from what I could see) rockets. The weapon locks on to players while smart scope is active. The Lock on is similar to the Rockets lock on feature in halo 2 towards vehicles, just you know, this time it locks onto players themselves.

Well I have not seen enough of this weapon to make judgements so I’ll just leave the conversation for now. Any thoughts?

Hail Hydra!? whoa wrong Hydra but a lock on rocket/grenade launcher looks as fun as it looks OP. I’m looking forward to firing that thing up.

Funny enough while playing the beta on Midship tonight, one of the Spartans called out “Nice Hydra kill”

Obviously nobody on the map was using the Hydra as it’s not even in the beta, but it was funny to hear it nonetheless.

The Hydra looks fun to use, so I’m going to go around and have fun with it, but because everyone is so competitive I would just be killed right away…
Looks like out Plasma Launcher from Reach is back.

Aren’t you getting this mixed up with the quote “Hail cobra”? from GIJOE?

Not sure if I like the fact that it locks on to people like that, it seems like it could very well still be an awesome weapon without that.

Marvel Universe, not GI Joe

OT: I’m not sure about the Hydra. Like most of Halo 5 I’m guessing you will have to play it to develop a proper opinion on it.
