Personally I am not liking the Hydra I love the Rocket Launcher way better even with the new look the Hydra isn’t nearly as powerful a rocket launcher so 343 PLEASE BRING BACK ROCKET LAUNCHER!!! But I loving the game so far
It’s obvious to me that the Rocket will be in the full game and the Hydra is a grenade launcher for maps where a Rocket would be too strong.
The Hydra isn’t replacing the Rocket Launcher, both will be in the full game.
They will both be in the game. There was a community vote which weapon would appear in week 2, and Hydra won by 76% majority vote I believe the final poll was.
I think the Hydra makes up for it’s lack of power with it’s ability to lock onto targets.
I’ve only used the hydra once so far but even with one try I think its awesome. Just get a lock on and pull the trigger and you get kill. I prefer a bunch of missiles over 1.
I think it’s underwhelming. I would rather just put BR shots on people. I find most people are using thrusters to evade the rockets. Really seems a waste to pick up.

Personally I just need to get more time with the gun, learn how to best use it.
i didnt like it at first either, but after a few games its growing on me, i just got a killing spree using it ;D
It really isn’t that bad, the lock-on makes the weapon much more efficient imo.
I would rather have it be a skill power weapon. Still missing Reach grenade launcher.
Like the Halo 4 SAW, the skill will be in how efficient you are with it. I could keep a SAW going until I got another ordinance drop. Getting kills or even just assisting in few shots will be the difference between good and just okay.

hip fire dumps a rocket out in the general drection you aimed, scope with it and it can lock (takes a second) ont people and fire rockets that track, they don’t turn great so can miss at close range and aren’t over fast so long shots can be hidden from, but mid range against exposed targets it wreaks. 2 hits to kill.
personally though i think it has too much ammo at spawn, maybe take 6 shots off it.
