The Hydra And Shotgun Needs An Upgrade

The Hydra in campaign sticks and so does the shotguns damage also sticks

The standard hydra in Halo 5 was a beast, but the hydra in Halo infinite is only useful against a wasp or banshee

I dunno, I think the shotguns one of my favorite weapons in the game… Only after the Battle Rifle…

I think for campaign, the real drawback to the bulldog and hydra is the ammo count. There really needs to be more starting ammo for both.

i think the hydra needs a faster fire rate and so does the bulldog… just enough to make them slightly better.

I think in campaign they are both fine. Multiplayer wise the hydra is really good at punishing people who are out in the open with its lock on mode. The free fire mode is good enough and can help in certain engagements but usually if you get pushed in close quarters you will probably lose. Lock on range kinda sucks on targets closer than 15ft. That’s in regards to infantry, its pretty solid against vehicles in most scenarios.

Bulldog is solid but a tiny increase to its 2 tap range may make it a little better.

Hydra is fun to use and can cause some panic from other team… but I feel like it’s not effective enough. Maybe TTK too long on it for a power weapon.

the shotgun is horrible in this game.

in Campaign they already have upgrades, they’re called the Pursuit Hydra and the Convergence Bulldog, both of which are nasty.

I had a lot of fun with the Hydra in Halo 5, but it’s probably good that they changed the way it behaves for Infinite. It’s fine. It doesn’t need to be changed. Also, the Bulldog is great.

I know it really sucks

Both versions of the bulldog suck damage wise the Hydra also sucks 4 shots or 5 to kill a standard brute come on and I am talking about the easiest difficulty setting

Hydra’s great against Vehicles, which is its primary function. It’s awful against spartans, especially the lock-on mode that takes 4 direct hit to kill. 4 of 6 shots to is not ideal for any weapon. Combine that with its loooooong reload, and you have a problem.

I do like it however. I felt H5’s was a bit much.

The Bulldog is more like a tweaked DMR than a tweaked shotgun honestly.

Lock on is a trap against anything that isn’t a flying vehicle.
If you used to free firing with Hydra, it 2 shots players on target, 3 shots with splash.
Locking onto Ground vehicles is generally also poor, because they move so fast around corners your Hydra shots are wasted, so Free Fire leading is much better.

Regarding Bulldog, honestly it should be a close range kill, but 2-3 tap from range.
The fact it lacks close range kill is what makes Sword have no counter at the moment, which really sucks.

I would like shell loaded shotgun back but tbh I don’t want too many shotguns in the sandbox.

Bulldog is more like a Mauler with more range I feel.
It feels exactly the same as double mauler from the same range, with also 2 - 3 shot kills.

double mauler would insta kill at short range.

I meant Bulldog range.
Current Bulldog’s mid range is 2-3 shots.
H3 dual Mauler at the same range is also 2-3 shots.

Single Mauler was trash.

Hydra realy needs good training phase and you just have to free fire and hit with it.
The Bulldogs range for 2-Shots could be extended a bit but it is a great weapon over all and does not make me feel like the old Shotguns: “Uhhh If it is not in 1-shot range, why bother?” And I can be way more aggressive with the weapon, use it in more scenarios.

Hammer-Sword-Bulldog-Repulsor do create a interesting short range sandbox, they just need to be placed in a fair way on maps.

They just need to bring back the weapon sets from Halo 5, there are hardly any weapons to work with, most notable in Fiesta game mode.

It seems to me that the Bulldog is basically the same as the Mangler.
I like both of them, but I’m not sure what the difference is between them, if there is one.

Making the Shotgun more powerful at longer ranges, and the Mangler more powerful at closer ranges might make them more unique, and it would give more options to counter the Energy Sword with.
