The Humans in Halo 4

So I have just started reading the first forerunner book in the trilogy and learned about the war between the humans and the forerunners and how the humans were devolved as punishment. So I was wondering, are the humans in Halo 4 back at the level of evolution as they were before they were devolved?

Very very close. They can’t fully achieve what they had before because Ancient Humans had Precursor tech which is very hard to find now.

No where near. Humans then were almost as powerfull as the Forerunners but not quite so that’s why they had an alliance with the San Shayumm (Is that spelt right?)

Also spoiler for next book I think. SKIP NEXT PART IS YOU DON’T WANT ANY SPOILERS!!!

I have no idea how to do the spoiler tab so I just swamped it in weird stuff.

Humans at a time were just as powerful as Forerunners in some areas and visa-versa. In Primordium it explains that humans had won a war against Forerunners in the past. And the second time they had a war, was just after they had finished off the flood which by then left the forces severely weakened. Even still, they fought the Forerunners for another 50 years before finally loosing. Humans were Forerunner’s only threat, partially why the hated them so much.

Also, the humans destroyed their cures and all evidence of the work to creating the cure against the flood as a final vengeance against the Forerunners,as Humans were the only ones who managed to create a cure/antidote against the flood.

Humans in Halo4 are nowhere near what Humanity used to be.We were toe to toe with the Forerunners and then some. Vice versa too.

Except there really was no “cure”.
As revealed by the Primordial, the Flood choose to infect or not infect. The Flood were retreating.
But it is possible they developed an effective defense against the Flood, assumed and observed by them and Forerunners as a “cure”.

And the Humans are close, I guess. The Ancient Human Empire rivaled that of the Forerunners (not in sie, but technology). If the Humans weren’t being dragged down by the Flood, they may have came victorious in the Human Forerunner War.

Think of it like this. There are 7 Technological Tiers by Forerunner terms.
The Forerunners and Ancient Humans achieved Tier 1.
The Covenant was Tier 2 with their Forerunner enhanced technology, reverse engineered Forerunner tech.
Humanity at the moment is Tier 3, very close to Tier 2. Their understanding in slipspace and space colonization brought them here. With a new treasure trove of Covenant and Forerunner tech, they’ll likely hit Tier 2 soon. They’ve already begun enhancing their fleet’s slipspace drives with Forerunner technology.

no we were just as powerful as they were. the didact even said, if we werent fighting two wars, we could have won against the forerunners. he even quoted that there are something humans are more advanced with, and there are something forerunners are more advanced with.

so we practically had defeated a tier 0 organism. Wow. its like how the UNSC a tier 3 civilisation defeated a tier 2 civilisation. wouldnt that make the ancient humans more powerful than the forerunners, and possibly the precursors?

We didnt beat the precursors. The forerunners did that after stealing precursor tech. We beat the Forerunners once, than the flood came, started kicking our -Yoinks!-, and then we get Devolved by the forerunners after they kicked our rears in our weakened state.

CANT WAIT FOR THE THIRD NOVEL. MUST KNOW FLOOD PRECURSOR CONNECTION.

Humans were fighting a war on both fronts - the San Shyum (Forgot the spelling. Prophets.) helping them against the Forerunners and themselves fighting against the flood. Technologically, they would have been powerful enough to defeat the Forerunners if the flood wasn’t doing all that.

They managed to beat back the flood to the edge of the galaxy by creating a ‘cure’ (A defense; There isn’t a cure to the flood), but the Forerunners beat them too and as such, they destroyed the cure as vengeance against the Forerunners.

The flood then came and fought against the Forerunners and won. During the war, the Halo’s were created.
