The Host with the Most .

In every game Halo or Not people always say HOST or you had host or it was my host - and there’s ways to tell in Halo 3 and Halo Reach although I don’t think most understand how to tell .

So lets make it simple
The HOST for the game is determined in post lobby and when the game starts it shows ALL players and what Team they’re on SIMPLE JUST PUT THE HOST on Top .
everyone would see that its
{ insert name of Host } and that way there’s no confusion about it …

This would not matter or change anything its just a little more info for the players to have / some might like it to others it is a stupid idea

So what do you think ?

Also this would be great for custom games .

I don’t see anything wrong with this.

In Reach, if your reticle bloomed when the game started, that’s how you could tell if you had host right?

i think there should also possibly be some kind of way to change host to combat poor host selection. maybe 75% of players need to veto for a new random host selection. and of course this means that teams cannot abuse this because they need at least 1 player from the other team in 2v2s and 2 players from the other team in 4v4. and no player would want to give their team’s host away potentially to the other team, if that host is excellent.

That too.

When there was more than 1 round: only one player can see the full time of the round when the round was about to begin which means you were the connection host. Players that weren’t host on those kind of gametypes had the timer shown what remaining time it was that ended the round.
That was very helpful for Grifball.

Yes
But not everyone – has this this kind info

Thanks to both of you. I would have just thanked you regularly, but as you can see to the left I have exactly 117.

Why not making it clear with a little icon.

I find Halos host selection stupid anyway. There is NO reason to perma switching the host in a custom game. There should be an option to turn that off for custom. It’s a custom so it’s my decision, my room and and my (laggy) game.

If the current host has an uber-connection the games sometimes switches to a weaker host (because Halo games always go for the best ping…but a good ping is not a sign of a constant good connection).

I’m hoping more for a fair host who does NOT get a stupid advantage in games like grifball. I don’t care who the host is, as long as he’s good and he’s fair.

I still find it funny how many people don’t believe in the Host system. You’d be surprised how many people I’ve met that are convinced Reach has dedicated servers and not a P2P Host system.

To silence the host dispute lets just have dedicated servers just like BF3 but then again we won’t get that for halo 4 because 343i doesn’t have the money yet to even back that up.

I don’t really care as long as the person with the best connection gets host. I’m tired of people with terrible internet still getting host!

Im sorry but i just face palmed… 343I is backed by Microsoft, however Microsoft can be pretty cheap at times who knows maybe if we freakout like the Gears of War fans we can get some servers aswell. “in Halo 5 its obviously to late for 4”
