Should be reserved only for the best players, not for those who spend 12 hours a day AFK’ing in Spartan Ops and campaign. No point in a ranking system and unlockables if everyone can get them without actually improving at the game while they play it. Hard to get symbols and armor increase the lifespan of the game and encourage players to push forward and become better.
I think 343i is working hard to make it so it’s hard to boost. I’m pretty sure the ranking system is different than Reach’s.
i dont think you rank up in campaign…

It is impossible to make a ranking system that can’t be exploited in some way. People just need to accept that.
They said some armor is unlocked by rank progression and some are through waypoint by performing certain objectives so in reality the best or most skilled players can still have the best armor
I don’t think armour should only be reserved for better players. That’s just unfair for hardcore fans who just aren’t good at the game. Ranking can be, because it’s nothing that is unlocked, but merely something that would attribute to stature and/or skill.
Everyone should have a fair chance in getting armour. However, only skilled players should be able to get to the highest rank.
They should do something similar to Halo 3’s progression system. It required experience and trueskill, instead of experience only. Even if a player wasn’t that skilled, he could reach unique ranks like staff captain, field major, etc. I thought that was pretty neat.
I think making certain armor “the cool armor” is stupid, we should wear the armor we think looks cool, not the armor that is unlocked at the highest rank (unless we want to do that) I personally don’t like the haunted helmet or really much of anything after Mark VI and that’s why I have been wearing that armor since I got it
If there is a “best armor” more balancing should be done, just my two cents.
From what we’ve seen, it looks like the Game Complete bonus is easily the lowest value.
Things like game performance, getting the objective, etc. have enormous payouts. Over 3,000 points easily.
Game Complete? 1,000.
From all the points combined, looks like the Game Complete bonus is only around 5-10% of the total points.
I’m fine with this. If people have to play 10,000 games to equal my 500, I can live with that.

What makes you so sure about that? IMO, BF3 has the best system out currently. Lose a game of some type, you’ll still get your earned ribbons and such, but it won’t be as much as the winning team.

I couldn’t agree more, armor is all a preference thing and there is not such thing as “best” armor, because everyone likes different things. Someone who is a high rank may like the default armor while a new player might like another kind. Armor should not correlate with skill/rank. They should be different things.
> Everyone should have a fair chance in getting armour. However, only skilled players should be able to get to the highest rank.
Hard to get armor encourages more people to play the game. (Security, Katana, and Recon in H3 for example). It encouraged players to play ranked.
But then everyone won’t win! D:

Agree. I am only a mediocre player that loves Halo.
Why troll. I do like the idea of having exclusive armor, but only to those that have done something to earn it. Kind of like how the Waypoint medals are implemented.
No boosting…

This.
Why people are so insane over the appearance of their spartan baffles me…you aren’t looking any cooler with the most expensive helmet…

Battlefield 3 is no different than Reach. You get a 500-point ribbon for winning the round. I can still get ~10,000 points in a game, be MVP, and still lose.
Best player lol, the Armor does nothing for the player traits it’s pure Barbie clothes aka pointless so who cares what typ of player gets a certain armor.
