I just realized they could’ve given us the Sparrowhawk from Halo Wars instead of the Wasp. Both are somewhat similar in design. I mean, I can see a resemblance.
So sad.

Isn’t the sparrowhawk considered a uber unit though?
While it is true that the Sparrowhawk accomplishes the same role that the Hornet / Wasp at an earlier time, the latter supplements existing stocks and supplies of the other two, in addition to being more modern and up-to-date with the current technology. Simply bringing back an older, lesser-seen vehicle would require extensive restorations and upgrades, which makes it more expensive to use and service.
Then again, with most of our heroes backed up into a corner (and falling back with older weapons and gear), there is a chance we’ll see the Sparrowhawk take to the skies again.

Nope. That’s the Vulture. I think the Hawk was classified as a special unit.

Oh yeah

It’s also a simulation. We could have Splasers that shoot rainbows if we wanted. Hmm… That’s actually not a bad idea🤔
It would be awesome to see an aerial vehicle that can carry people. Maybe in the next Halo…
The Hawk would have been significantly overpowered. Its primary armament was a pair Spartan Laser-like weapons.
But of course, who here thinks about balance?

“It’s OP”
>Req 6 unlocks fully automatic grenade launcher with something like 72 rounds per mag. (The Answer)
>Req 7 unlocks Banshee that can survive tank shells and Splaser shots.
The twin guns were more like the primary while the laser was more like the Banshee bomb, if I recall.
I’d love if we could get a hawk in a future game

You think I like the Banshee Ultra? It’s a spit in the face of balance, it’s disgusting.
and the Answer isn’t a grenade launcher. The rounds are explosive, there is a distinct difference.
And you’re actually right about the guns on the Hawk. But that’s still not a fun vehicle to play against, and that’s the thing.
Something well designed for a game must be both fun to use and fun to play against, or at the very least engaging. A heavy weapon that is basically a spartan laser on a fast flying vehicle? That is ZERO fun.

Balance and Warzone don’t tend to get along very well.

I wasn’t being serious about it being a GL, I was using that as an example to make a point.
Point I was making is the Answer isn’t balanced. You get shot once and you’re dead because the extra rounds don’t give you a chance to retaliate.
The Hawk’s laser wasn’t full auto. It was an upgraded Hornet, really. “It’s zero fun”
tell that to the Anders’ mains in HW1. Or people who used the Phaeton Helios first week it was out. Maybe you’re just afraid that you’d have a bad time if it were in H5G. Not because “muh unbalance” but because you specifically just couldn’t counter last time we saw it

I’d love it if we had every single vehicle, Covenant, Banished, and UNSC in a single Halo game.
Driving a Vulture in an FPS Halo would’ve been great. It would take an entire team to man it, but it destroy absolutely everything.

I just think it’s a dumb choice of a vehicle.
I think the Wasp is a much better balanced, low level entry that is a direct parallel to the Covenant and Promethean weapons.
That and it was, “Anders’ project.” which I have doubts about, but regardless.
The Wasp is nifty.
