If hacking was any concern then going free to play was definitely not the move.
People being able to make a new account on the fly makes it easier to get in.
The PC can be used for all sorts of hacks even hacks that aren’t visible to the human eye.
On top of that the PC can be modded in any way to help the player. Even externally. You don’t have to have a program to implement certain things like rapid fire.
I’ll give my friend for example. He’s disabled and he created a contraption for him to play better. It’s no longer just a keyboard but floating objects that press the keys down. Ofcourse you can do this with a controller and do many crazy things to it but with the PC you can also use programs to trick the keyboard. Even tho you can play with Mnk on Xbox you wont have the same level of options a PC has.
If there is already hacks in the game then the game is already toast. Hackers already have all the game files. They already planned for when updates come to ban them.
THEY WILL NEVER GO AWAY.
Hacking is here to stay. No matter what 343 does hackers will always be 10 steps ahead. This is why the launch of the game should’ve been delayed or done differently because the way this game launched opened up a can of worms.
I’m not sure if other games have used this but I think a better fix would be to ban IP addresses.
It’s 2022. Banning ips is nothing to hackers.

Yeah I wasn’t sure if that would even work anyways.
I mean if crossplay was optional I’d face far less hackers and that’s just a fact.
Any game that adds crossplay struggles with hackers, imbalances or latency issues.

I agree but I think 343 wants to keep the player base numbers as strong as possible so I don’t think they will let this go any time soon
Eh, issue is alot of console players hate it and it forces them to stop playing or puts them off.
I myself only hate the hacking aspect and latency issues that come with it but forcing players into often doesnt make the game better.
Many games have had no crossplay and strived, crossplay is a newer thing and imo causes more hassle and issues for everyone involved and that’s not just halo.
Dead by daylight for example, a game that went crossplay and hackers swarmed and then it also went free to play and now it’s far to common.
I’m on pc playing with a controller. It’s frustrating to play against hackers even when I’m on the PC.
Disable crossplay would definitely help but in a alternate reality I wish 343 released that game exclusively to the series x as a full priced game.
Would’ve gave me a reason to buy the series x and we wouldn’t have these hacking issues. Halo 5 did well when it came to hacking. Very little things happened if not at all.
I’ve said it before in a different thread, but PC players and Console players were never meant to Crossplay with each other, that’s just Microsoft trying to force their hardware to connect.
We wanted PlayStation crossplay, not PC. And not for some malicious reason to exclude the PC players, but it’s simply because PC players have a range of customization, optimization, and control that Console players will never be able to have. The playing ground will never, ever be fair when a PC Player can add a new program or hardware to enhance their game or even bypass any anti-cheat software anytime they want.

Well it’s why iv always been a console gamer, cheaper, the controller itself is more comfortable and just feels more fun and interactive and you use to avoid the majority of hackers/cheater on any game.
Sadly there are those that will always ruin games due to cheating and it’s a shame. Maybe they will fix it soon after the holiday
