The Halo franchise: My Experiences (Halo 3)

The Halo series.
A game series I have thoroughly enjoyed since I first took it up.
However, It seems I have had a lot of different experiences and emotions towards the games than most, especially the newest, Halo 4.

These Posts will log my feelings and thoughts on the series, that I personally have experienced. Take it at face value. These are my thoughts and opinions. No-one else’s, while I wouldn’t mind if 343 took some of my gripes on board, I may be a minority on these grudges.

Allow me to explain.

I came into the Halo series, at Halo 3.
I was about 12? 13? When I picked it up. I saw a silly game where humans fight aliens and win. But Halo 3 delivered far better than I expected.

In Halo 3 the game-play was interesting and innovative (to my knowledge), whilst I actually cared very little for the campaign, even though, i played the first two levels before anything else.
While I had a decent time fighting through I didnt feel much of a reason to do so.

As a result of my apathy to Campaign I soon dropped the games campaign in favor of custom games and forge.

I enjoyed custom games with my family and friends for a time, Ninjaball, Ninjanaut, Slayer, Infection… All of these and more.
I eventually moved on to matchmaking, and while the ranking system completely flew over my head, I enjoyed the games… there were frustrating times, many losses and also several wins, but it was all in good fun.

Then It came back to campaign.
While it was interesting to me at the time, I disliked the main characters. Chief and Cortana. Bear in mind, I had not seen anything of these characters before this point, and so my opinion is solely based off how they appeared in Halo 3.The reason for this, is that they acted obnoxious all game through. They never seemed to care or react, just have a snotty retort, which made them just seem like -Yoinks!-.

By the time the elites were losing in campaign, I was solely powering through for achievements… And then the flood came. I LOVE the flood in Halo. The creepy designs the way it SHOWED you infections happening… It scared me when i first saw it. I DREADED legendary on these levels.
When the Gravemind appeared, he was genuinely the most interesting aspect of the campaign in my opinion, the creepy voice, the shaking screen, the black tendrils… it all seemed so… twisted and wrong.
As a result of this these were my most revered levels of campaign in the game.

Then It came to Halo Reach. The Long awaited final game that Bungie were ever going to make. To my knowledge, this would be the last game of Halo ever made.

while i agree halo 3 is a really good game, you truly missed something special with Halo 1 and 2.

I don’t say this to be nasty, but without having played CE ans H2 you’re really not qualified to comment on the campaigns.

Halo 3 was time to “finish the fight” so what you label obnoxious was simply a getting down to buisness approach. See how the context changes?
