The halo comunity

Ok look can we please cut the BS between modern vs.classic players and bungie vs.343 it’s childish. I swear I can’t stand these “halo purists” who have that mentality that if it’s not Halo 3 then it’s garbage and the people who like the halo that isn’t halo 3 are garbage Halo’s Reach, 4, and 5 proves this and it also proves that people don’t like change and they refuse to adapt. No wonder halo one of the worse gaming communities of all time list.

Complaining about criticism solves nothing, and, ultimately, adds to pointless noise.

It’s not gonna stop, we will keep fighting.

But calling it complainers is a huge untruthful brush stroke.

If you can’t stand people giving away their opinions well… that’s your problem.

Great job, you’re adding to the complaints.

See, it’s this attitude that shows why the divide keeps growing, there’s so much animosity within the fanbase, and why the population fell so far to begin with. Legitimate fans don’t feel like they’re being listen to, and any statements are just met with “stop complaining”.

Since when is liking the older games such a sin, especially when it’s eons more successful than any game produced afterwards? If Halo 5 was more successful then Halo 3, then that statement would have some sort of merit.

If the older trilogy was proven to be the best of the Halo series in both sales and population, then why are we trying so hard to stay away from it and go in the opposite direction? Halo 5 already went backwards by trying to fix most of the problems with Halo 4.

And most importantly, who said people wanted the game to be exactly like Halo 3? If we wanted Halo 3 all over again, **we’d just push more for Halo 3 Anniversary.**Halo 3 had problems with its multiplayer too that I personally don’t like. (-Yoink!- Dual Wielding) If anything I want it to be closer to Halo 2 but that had its changes too. So that ruins that argument right there.

Halo is “supposed to evolve” right? Well that’s what classic players want. For Halo to evolve from Halo CE-3. Halo 5 has some elements that would love to come through, but unfortunately not all if them are done well or balanced.

Have you ever considered that people are refusing to change because it’s bad change?

Halo 4 was actually really bad.

List? There’s a list? Where?

Discussion is always good. Especially if pointing out real flaws.

Okay, yes, calling people ‘complainers’ isn’t exactly correct, but, for me, it’s close enough in this instance.

Wrong place for this, and have you seen the star wars community?

We’re devided sure, but I can assure you most of us want to civily find answers to our problems. Try to find those who do that, it will make the world seem a little bigger.

It’s not close enough, to even consider that means one doesn’t really know what exactly is going on.

If you wish to not get involved, don’t, but you can’t help when you see it pop up time and time again and it’ll certainly not stop for some time now.

Well everyone here has a right to don’t like a element each game has added. I respect anyone who doesn’t like the new Halos as long they give their reason in a calm constructive manner and respect other people’s opinion.

Yeah pretty much this whole thread.

Fine. Does criticism sound better?

I think each game has things it does well and things it doesn’t. I’m sure this thread will devolve into an argument though about how one set of games is better than the other without people actually giving real reasons other than that they were better at one or another.

I’ll say that I think the old games were more fun for messing around with your friends, but I do prefer the newer games for solo queuing online. I really hope they bring back split screen at least for campaign in future games.

Yes it does.

While I like CE-Reach more than 4 and 5 I have to say that I think halo 5 was a big step in the right direction. While I still don’t like sprint and I’m not much of a fan of the new art style I think the gameplay has returned to form a lot more.

My biggest complaint is the customization and I wish it was a lil more like the older art style but halo wars 2 seems to fix that a little bit.

If people don’t express their concerns about the game, how is it ever going to get better?

The problem with this community is that a lot of people aren’t asking for the right things, or aren’t pointing out the real problems…

Why would you ask for more armor when it adds nothing to the game, and there’s already so much, when the game has left entire sub-communities in the dark, offers an unacceptably low amount of game modes, and voids to fill in the map pool? BTB maps? Critical content and features where real value is added to the gaming experience… How can classic Halo fans also be satisfied? Where can 343 cut costs and design smarter, next time around, to fulfill these bullet-points next time around? …and without producing seemingly lazy content/maps/designs?

These are questions we should all be asking ourselves…

As long as people are passionate about things; they will continue to discuss them and those discussions (If done in a constructive manner) can benefit the community as a whole. If you take issue with something someone says a better solution would be to point out the flaws in the argument they’re using rather than call for an end to the conversation.

That is painting with an awfully broad brush. I don’t see the point in using a hasty generalization here, describing an entire, diverse group of people with a poorly applied label. People’s views are rarely as simple as that; even if there is some bandwagoning on this issue.

> 2535464039574339;1:

This isn’t that different than the label you were putting on those who didn’t share your views above. Both are methods of avoiding conversation by grouping people possibly inappropriately; I will say calling someone garbage is almost never of any benefit to anyone. I’m sorry if that happened to you. We do have methods in place to deal with that kind of thing though.

I don’t think this is particularly clear.

Things really aren’t that simple. Some people genuinely don’t like certain aspects of gameplay and there is nothing requiring them to adapt to something they don’t like on that front. There isn’t a requirement that people like change (even if I do.)

Unfortunately posts like this tend to add to the noise, in essence you’re complaining about the views of others rather than trying to understand their views or dispute them as appropriate.
