The Halo complex

A new idea

Since Halo Wars was released in 2009 I have been thinking about ways to integrate the RTS into the FPS titles. This is just an idea that I’ve had. Obviously I do not have specifics like: What happens when a player dies? Things of that nature. We also may not have the technology available now but hear me out on this idea.

Two players on Halo Wars start an online multiplayer skirmish. The two players start building their armies. (This is where the FPS comes in) A handful of players on Halo: Reach (for arguments sake I’m going to use the most recently released multiplayer FPS) are inserted into the Halo Wars players growing armies. From there the skirmisher can send the trooper and his squad of AI and Human players to a location where they will fight against another squad. The use of AI in an online environment would mean large battles without having to worry about connections between say 64 players.

This is just a big general idea.

And an idea that I must disagree with. Halo is a FPS and always has been.

I really wouldn’t count Halo Wars as a proper Halo game. It’s fun, but it ain’t Halo. :I

There is a pc game that’s already like this.

2 players decide where to build buildings and such objects of that nature.
While the other players play as warriors and other classes, such as mages, trolls etc.

It would have to be its own genre, like an MMO.

If I am not mistaken, Eve Online is looking to do this with the FPS aspect on the PS3 (Maybe vita?)

I always promoted an MMO idea way back with Halo 2’s release and it looks like Bungie HAD considered it at a time, when they scrapped it shortly after Halo 3’s release though the way it looked seemed very weak so I am glad it didn’t go through as a sub-par game.

Maybe 343i can get someone to do one? XD

I disagree. Halo Wars was fantastic, and it most certainly was Halo. CE was originally going to be an RTS, so in a way Halo Wars was Halo’s return to its roots.
