People say 343 has and is killing Halo which yes they have definitely done their damage. But there is no community hype you see Youtubers for other games uploading daily where as i see Halo youtubers uploading once or twice every 1-3 weeks and im pretty sure we have all been in the situation where you see a video on a game and then that game sounds fun. we need to come together as a community but all we are is a bunch of children. Think about it how many times have you seen someone who is playing a multigame playlist then leaves when they dont get the game they want? or starts betraying their team at the start? or betrays you for snipe? we need to come together as a community and make halo more fun again! we need to mic up talk and be a community. Youtubers need to get active even if they only have like 10 subs at least theyre trying. 343 cant do everything they can just make and adjust the game but its up to us weather or not we thrive
It’s sad, but this is absolutely true.
Wow, what a unique theory you have here! Never considered this till I read your thread. By “your thread” I mean #117,117,117,117 of 117,117,117,117 suggesting it is the people whom are concerned enough about Halo in general to log into HaloWaypoint and talk about Halo with total strangers that are both the reason and whom to blame for Halo allegedly being in the process of getting killed.
I am someone that want to start with YouTube. But there is completly no reason to upload videos. The damage done is just too high. Even pros like Naded and Ninja barely get much views for theyre Halo videos.
On Twitch there are like 300 viewers average if Ninja or Naded arent streaming. You also cant even save gameplays in the MCC. Thats horrible for montage makers. I couldnt even upload your sick gameplay if I wanted to.
We can only hope that this will change with H5, but you are blaming the wrong people here.
(cross game playlists are the worst idea ever and only exist because of the low population, thanks to that awesome launch)
The MP community thrived on LAN/Splitscreen, clans, theatre, machinima, forge, and MLG.
The game needs to support features that support the community.
The community is now required to buy relatively expensive equipment to upload videos and pictures. Or use the subpar twitch app on xbox, or share their videos and pictures to only the xbox game feed, through a rather intrusive (HOME, HOME, Y/X) or spotty (Xbox, record that, XBOX RECORD THAT!, F YOU XBOX!) systems.
Remember Halo 4 dropped campaign theatre so that it could be the prettiest Halo to date, and the campaign was. Proxy chat was dropped. Split screen has been dropped. LAN has been dropped. Clans has been gone since Halo 3 and it’s still one of the most requested xbox features.
I do agree the community that plays MCC is just down right annoying. I think that is due to the whole online ecosystem though. Devs and Publishers treat gamers like babies with wallets. So you act like babies with wallets.
Edit: in the interest of being constructive I want to add that until Publishers treat gamers like people and more specifically, Adults, who make their own decisions and who are responsible for their own actions, we wont get the freedom in our game space to truly express ourselves. So OP you are right we need to take action and promote better communities, but we need to do it on a wider scale. Stop playing by the restrictive rules we’ve been set (as much as I praise N, it’s the worse thing about their online philosophy) and moaning when we find people online we don’t like. It happens in real life and it’s going to happen online, but censoring everyone is a step backwards.
Show favour towards:
Splitscreening and LAN over solo online experiences (which this community doesn’t do)
Forged maps over “free” maps paid for at the expense of your fellow community members (which this community doesn’t do)
Theatre mode imporovements and better ways to share this straight from your xbox over over Youtube videos of Halo “celebs” or “skill” kills (you know the drill)
Twitch users that promote teaming up and having fun on the game, doing speed runs, campaign runs and such instead of against Halo “Celebs”
343i have no clue what is good for a community. They think 1080p and 60 fps is all a game needs to win over your average consumer, in much the same way they thought loadouts and drops is all a game needed to sell back in 2012. Show them by not buying a Halo without the features our community needs?
343 could at least make the game fully functional for people outside the US.

Exactly dude
So out of millions of Halo fans, the Halo community on here and so forth, which is probably only several thousand in numbers is killing Halo o.0
Sounds like BS to me.
Any games worst enemy is the community honestly.
Person 1: You should put this in the game.
Person 2: No, thats dumb. If its added i will leave. You should add this insead.
Person 1: If my idea is ignored im leaving.
Person 2: Stop whining.
Person 3: But its not Halo 2.
Person 1: Halo needs to evolve.
Person 3: If it does everyone will leave.
Person 4: I wont leave, i like the idea.
Person 3: -Yoink- 343 fanboy. Get that -Yoink- out of your -Yoink-
Person 1, 2, 3, 4: This community sucks. Im leaving.

And then they come crawling back…

That’s mostly because it is.
For the record, Halo isn’t dying.
