The Halo Books In Order 2020

Hello everyone. I’ve been buying and slowly reading through the books of Halo. I know a lot of the things that happen in the books because I love scouting the Halo wikia. I am not buying the books in any particular order, if I am really honest I am buying them from cheapest to most expensive.

Lately I got my hands on Halo New Blood and Halo Bad Blood. I read that something major happened to the ODST Squad we know and love in those two books. I am pretty sure New Blood comes before Bad Blood. I have two questions:

  1. If I want to read purely about Buck and the ODST Squad, do I need other books besides New Blood and Bad Blood?
  2. Can someone give me a chronological timeline of the books? The only lists I found are 6 years old. Well before the newer books.

Any help is appreciated.

P.S. Dont worry, I will get and read ALL the Halo books, but because of my studies I have to think smart when it comes to the costs ;D

May I introduce you to CIA391’s handy dandy Guide to the Lore. It’s stickied in this very forum btw.

Thanks! Its been a few years since I actually was on Halowaypoint so I had no idea it was stickied here at all! Thanks a bunch!

New Blood and Bad Blood cover just about everything you need on Alpha-9 after we were introduced to them in New Mombasa. There’s a comic covering Dutch and Romeo’s background called Halo: Helljumper, but it’s not integral to understanding Alpha-9 as a whole.

Here’s a link for all Halo media.

This might be a stupid question but did first strike ever get a direct sequel? (Other than the games of course)

There is no direct sequel following up after First Strike. Ghosts of Onyx is the closest thing people see as a sequel to First Strike.

Finally found a post about this! I want to read the books but I dont know in what order to do so

The best one I think to read is Halo Evolutions.

Also will you read the comics too?

Just listened to Ghost of Onyx again can’t wait to go through the kilo five trilogy the sequels and then last light.

If you’re looking for a timeline, you might want to check out this article. They’ve clustered games, books, comics and even films in different era’s, might give you an idea what’s worth reading based on what you’ve already read or played.

Edit: Aw shuck apparently I cannot hyperlink on Halo Waypoint? Anyway, I was talking 'bout Halo Timeline ⋆ Chronological Story Order ⋆ Beyond Video Gaming
