Mythic Difficulty refers to playing the game on Legendary with all skulls activated. We like to refer to this as SSLASO. No, that extra “S” wasn’t a typo. Unlike simple SLASO (Solo Legendary All Skulls On), SSLASO stands for “Single-Segment Legendary All Skulls On”, meaning the player must make it through each mission individually on Legendary with all skulls on, from start to finish, in one go. No deaths. No saves. No reverting to the previous checkpoint in co-op mode. This is a challenge to be feared.
As such, this thread will serve as the main hub for Halo 5 & Waypoint enthusiasts to visit for all their Halo 5 Mythic campaign needs.
Hopefully serious enthusiasts will post video guides for each mission where the skulls are located and even Mythic tactics and strategies here as they become available.
Halo 5: Guardians will have a total of 13 skulls which are the same ones from Halo 3.
The past few Halo titles have opted out of having findable skulls but it seems 343 Industries is going back to the tradition in Halo 3 by having us find them before we can use them again.
I am excited to see skull collecting return in the Halo 5: Guardians campaign!!
Here’s a full list of all the Halo 5 Skulls and a vid of the H5Skulls:
Iron Skull - Solo restart mission on death - Black Eye Skull - Shields don’t recharge unless you melee an enemy - Tough Luck Skull - Enemies always go berserk, always dive out of the way, never flee - Catch Skull - Enemies are grenade happy - Fog Skull - Motion sensor is disabled - Famine Skull - Weapons drop much less ammo - Thunderstorm Skull - Major upgrade to the capabilities of enemies - IWHBYD Skull - Rare combat dialogue becomes more common - Grunt Birthday Party Skull - Headshot a grunt - HAPPY BOOM TIME! - Cowbell Skull - Acceleration from explosions increased - Blind Skull - The HUD and the first person arms and weapon are hidden - Mythic Skull - Enemies have increased health - Tilt Skull - Enemy resistances and weaknesses are increased
*MAJOR UPDATE!
Halo 5 on the Xbox One will only allow for 5 minute clips but hopefully there will be a proper stats system. I plan to publish a list of Mythic Conquerors in the OP . However, as individuals conquer individual missions on Mythic here is the place that those Spartans can showcase their achievements. Now, I know this could be the subject of controversy and even stir up the occasional spats of war down the road, but…I believe these folks deserve to be recognized for all of their hard work, and it isn’t their fault even if we don’t have the usual tools at our disposal for average verification. The reason I’m doing this is so that folks have videos to reference for their own attempts. Generally folks that attempt conquering Halo 5 at this level will have a YouTube playlists featuring their Mythic / SLASO runs.
Unfortunately, this DOES mean that in order to be eligible for “The List”, a capture card and/or Twitch account uploaded/ported to a YouTube account is required.
If you are a relatively unknown person existing outside of the Mythic Community, although it will be more difficult for you to be verified and your accomplishments known, if a person posts the link to their run on YouTube i will personally watch it and will verify it if it is legit.
In the end, however, I believe the benefits of this will far outweigh the issues. At least for now. So, we all should tip our hats to the conquerors as they emerge and I hope you enjoy their stardom.
Here is a list of known Mythic runners who have proven runs & have conquered Halo 4 on Mythic. Halo 4 Mythic Conquerors
REVIVE
Some new campaign footage has come out on you tube and a Mythic issue with halo 5 is clear. This revive thing. we all know the Iron skull means any death reverts to beginning of the mission and to conquer a mission Mythic there must be no deaths. it showed master chief totally get wrecked and he was lying there dead then he got up on his knees and they came and gave him full health. You know where I’m going here. Should we consider our runs as no revives or should we consider revives like health packs in ODST or reach? I just can see revive being misused like in a safe area and you have low health and wreck yourself with a nade so your buddy will give you full health. This possibility sort of makes me angry because I want this accomplishment to mean something not be a revived joke.
REVIVE
I saw another campaign vid. Evidently on solo with only AI as the other 3 members of the team you have to “call” for the revive. Meaning if you as Master Chief / Locke do not call or push whatever button to call to be revived then you remain dead. If that is so the issue I posted about above is resolved and the integrity of Mythic can remain in tact. In this vid@6:09 it mentions what im talking about
Also on Revive it seems it give the reviver over shields as well as the revivee .
as in this vid@13:29
So on SLASO we could direct an AI to revive but not MC/Locke himself. Otherwise I can see MC would be running over to revive every 5 seconds and getting free shields.
So this means that to keep from circumventing the Blackeye skull Master Chief / Locke must not revive any AI to keep it real and not cheat.
I don’t understand this thread, is it just a self promoting thread talking about campaign are do you plan on establishing rules for H5 Mythic difficult? Which is already established as SLASO.

the OP explanation above details the rules of Mythic difficulty.
We had this type of thread for Halo4 and it is a place where folks who are interested in this type of difficulty can gather and discuss their Mythic journey. this is not self promoting at all i have not mentioned any of my accomplishments. however, I have conquered every halo game on this difficulty as MyPlaylists here prove.
I take this topic very seriously and believe in SSLASO.

HUNTERS
Those who have done or will do Mythic runs know that hunters can be very tough with the Mythic skull and Thunderstorm skull activated.
we in the community had to learn the Hunter Dance to dispatch them. As in this vid@3:51
It seems that the hunter movement code is similar in Halo 5 as in Halo 4 so the dance should be the same.
In this vid@7:15 it appears that the same dance mechanics are present. I can see from that one movement the dance is the same.
Meaning hunters can be dispatched fairly easy.

GOOD POINT.
i am not an expert on Twitch and yes it sounds like you could port it to YouTube. However the vids on youtube need to be from the beginning of the mission showing the skulls enabled and difficulty setting through to the end of the mission in a single segment with the stats link posted in the Description. Usually these vids are placed in a playlist to keep the runs for a certain game grouped together.
as in this example.

And you can do that with Twitch, on a side note, Xbox One streaming messes up if you have a snap open or are not inside a game. But what you need to know is that you can stream the skulls and difficulty before starting a campaign mission. (Atleast in MCC you can, I can’t speak for an un-released game.)
NUMBER OF MISSIONS
Microsoft has published a new infographic that includes some key statistics for Halo 5.
Among other things, it reveals that Halo 5’s 15-mission campaign should take you about 8-12 hours to complete.
