Does anyone know what halo 4’s ranking system will be like I hope it’s not like reach and will there be in MLG playlist?
Probably will be. Don’t know how else it would work with joining in progress.

If MLG decides to take Halo 4 on board for competitive gaming and to use in their tournaments, it is likely an MLG playlist will be added to Halo 4 at some point.
Frankie said on the Neogaf forum that there would be TruSkill unlike Reach’s, so no the ranking system won’t be like Reach’s.

I’m hoping they split it apart like has been done in the past. I was ok with Reach’s system of ranking up. Granted I wish it wasn’t such a big deal, because I actually believe rank in Reach means nothing. Its just a picture of how much you play. I want to be able to judge skill to a certain extent. I did not like Arena and how it was styled, and obviously Halo 3’s system had its flaws. I’m really hoping for a good ranked playlist that is fair and actually has meaning. Also, who knows, they might disable in game joining for ranked playlists. Of course little to none is known right now so I try to not worry to much about it.

I wouldnt like a true skill ranking system… I like to see what rank i can work towards, with trueskill you cant achieve this.
Also you will have to wait for the MLG to see if they pick up the game.

Having truskill ranks doesn’t mean you can’t work towards experience ranks. The two can both be side by side and sepperate at that same time. All 343 has to do is let anyone get to any EXP rank without having to get a certain truskill rank. For instance, you can get to inheritor in Reach without being top 1% Onyx division.
I dont mean rank as in the reachs abysmal ranking system… i mean the old halo ranking system… eg halo2/3 1-50 etc… not earning exp like cod

Halo 2 used a modified ELO system.
Halo 3 uses TrueSkill
Halo: Reach also uses TrueSkill, just loosely. Very loosely…

You can say that again…
ELO is the way foward for a ranking system for me… but whatevs, people will disagree with whatever there is
Looks like im not buying halo. I loved halo 3 more than life itself. There wasnt much diversity in the game but the competitive trueskill system was extremely fun. I have been a faithful halo follower for 6 years. If halo has perks and a progressive leveling system then I will be sticking with COD. 343 is going to fail if they make halo to similar to COD. Just like all the other companies that tried to copy World of Warcraft. This is a sad day for me.

If armor is meaning something in this game, that will be reflective on how good you are, because then it shows you had the ability to buy pieces other couldnt get. Maybe its time to change the way you think how the game should be played.
I think the ranked playlists should have halo 2’s 1-50, and then just have the credit/spartan points/exp or whatever they’re doing. I’d like halo 3’s ranking system if the 1-50 was like halo 2’s.
I want Halo 2’s system AND Halo Reach’s Credits/“Spartan Points”.

- Obviously you two couldn’t achieve 50s. Noobs: want reach ranking system, Competitive People: want 1-50 back. Stupid for reach people to say that “I’m the highest highest rank so I’m good cause I have the sweetest armor,” when I’m a Commander and can own you. And I’m a Commander because reach is a COMPLETE FAIL!
