The Halo 4 Ranking System - Videos

With all of the speculation out there I wanted to put together this thread with the videos of evidence.

If you watch this video from yesterday. At the 30 second mark you will see the quote: “FRANKIE JUST REACHED RANK A-7”

Now, in today’s video we see an experience system of sorts. One very similar to Halo Reach’s.

With this video as well as the one from yesterday I believe there are two systems in place much like Halo 3. In Halo 3 you had your 1-50 rank and your playlist rank. From this video we see the experience and yesterday we saw the rank A-7. You also see his “experience” rank with the Legend symbol from Halo: Reach.

I believe both coincide. You get experience per game kind of like Reach and then your skill is based and “'ranked”

If there is a letter system and numerical system in place for this (A, B, C, D, etc) and (1, 2, 3, etc) I believe it could be once you reach a letter it would be VERY difficult to go down a letter. However, you could move freely through the numbers (say they are 1-10).

Just an idea of sorts.

Good spot bro, Reach style is fun but I love the idea of having something really tough to get through, solely based on skill. There is hope for a good ranking system, sweet

my guess is the once you reach a letter you will not be able to de-level past that letter. So I just reach level B-1. I won’t be able to de-level myself back to A-50 or w/e.

I hope that this is true. I didn’t like Reach’s system because it didn’t promote winning, just farming kills. I missed Halo 3’s system, flawed as it was. Hopefully A-B-C are also ranks, and once you reach that mark you can’t de-rank. I do notice the credit (now exp) system in place, but hopefully there are changes so that it actually promotes winning and actually counts for objective play. If this is true, than it’s a good compromise system.

In the Infinity Multiplayer video on the front page it shows a post game carnage report that shows what experience is being given out.

  • Complete Game: 1000
  • Victory: 5000
  • Score: 2500
  • Online: 1000
  • Objective: 5000

Now most of these are pretty self explanatory but Online and Objective are interesting. Giving you points for doing the objective rather then just kill is a great feature just don’t know if people will betray to get this bonus. Also not quite sure if online just means you played in regular matchmaking and if you play custom games you don’t get the bonus. I’m not sure but I don’t see the random bonus like there was in reach, which I believe is very good news because that thing was absolutly bs.
