The Halo 4 map remake is CONTAINMENT

I think so, anyway, and here’s why:

  • It’s an outdoor map, as Frankie suggested.

  • It’s a huge map, as Frankie said (Containment is one of the largest ever that hasn’t already been remade, which Frankie said the remake was going to be a map that hasn’t been remade before).

  • Frankie said the map remake had to be adjusted because he didn’t want jetpackers and thruspackers (lol) to be able to enter the “bases” at points that weren’t meant to be entry points. Containment is the only map I know of that a) hasn’t been remade yet, 2) has bases, and 3) is outdoors.

The only part I haven’t figured out is what the restaurant clue has to do with this map. Let’s maybe try to figure that out in this thread, instead of yet another thread about which map we think it is? Let’s use this particular thread to focus on trying to figure out if there’s a link to this one particular map.

Just an idea!

you missed Waterworks, it fits your criteria and has been mentioned before. Waterworks are more likely anyway, it was mentioned in one of the sparkasts so I think its is much more likely than Containment.

Relic fits your criteria as well.

This just makes me Think of Relic, for example trying to stop players from getting in quickly and taking the flag via using the jet pack would be a big deal on this map.

I’m leaning strongly for Waterworks or Containment. Both seem likely.

I want Containment! That’s the BTB map I want remade. Best BTB map IMO.

But I think Relic is a higher possibility. I like Relic, it’s not Containment, but I’ll be happy if the remake is Relic.

But it’s definitely not Sandtrap. Even with the picture that’s in Mexico, and Frankie straight up said it has nothing to do with Mexico.

And it’s not Waterworks. Waterworks is all underground (with the exception of one little hole in the ceiling that shows outside).

Waterworks

“Bases” being the keyword, if he really said that statement. Don’t remember seeing that quote anywhere, but I haven’t been on here in a couple days.

Relic doesn’t really have “bases”. However, it’s all in how you define a base. To me, it just had one base, which would need adjustment due to jetpacking, but I don’t think I would consider the offense side a base.

Containment
Waterworks
Terminal

Those 3 come to mind by what you’ve given as evidence. Outside. Not small. Bases that need adjustment due to jetpacks etc.

Containment would be an awesome addition to the map pool in Halo 4, I’d be quite happy to see it return! Not to mention that having another snow map would make me very happy too.

As was stated by someone else just now, “Relic” doesn’t really have “bases”. It has 1 base-like area.

Bases to me, in it’s most obvious form, is like on Blood Gulch (which we know won’t be the remake, as has been confirmed):

Two completely separate, usually (but not always) similar, individual structures that house the team/starting spawns.

Waterworks KIND of fits that description, but not really. Also, I don’t see what entry points would need to be “de-jetpacked”, so to speak, on Waterworks.

Although I do agree that Waterworks is also a very likely candidate, regardless.

There is a restaurant clue? What is the clue? Just restaurant?

What about…

Restaurant → reservations → Native American reservations → Containment of Native Americans → containment??? Its a stretch…

wait, you can now use the jet pack to pick up the flag and jet out of there?

woops mybad read that wrong >.>

Bahaha! Biggest stretch ever, but one of the best/most entertaining. golf clap

No. You cannot jetpack whilst carrying the flag. He just means getting to the flag would be much easier than it was in Halo 2.

Death yoinking Island, that’s what I want and it fits the description

Containment, Waterworks, Terminal or Relic doesnt really matter to me because everyone of those are awesome maps. If I had to pick a favorite of the maps above I have to choose Relic because I had most fun driving around in a warthog on that one.

Quite a lot of maps have “bases” even if they’re not conventional ones. I still think it’s Terminal.

Honestly, I would be happy with any of the Halo PC maps. Some of the all time best BTB maps in Halo. Timberland is still perhaps my all time favorite map… but its already been remade. :frowning:

I would take another look at the bases on Waterworks. Not sure how long it’s been since you have played the map on Halo 2, but the base structures can definitely be abused by the jetpack.

There’s 3 doors into the base. 1 in front. 1 in back. 1 that is on the side, which you have to take the ramp from behind the base, and leads into the banshee spawn. There’s also the hole in the top of the base, much like the Blood Gulch bases, where you could drop in with the bomb or to grab the flag etc.

So essentially it’s 3 floors. To which, a jetpack would definitely mess up how they would play. You could jetpack on top of the base without having to go into the base itself to get to the 2nd floor. You would no longer have to take the ramp up to the banshee. It would also make that hole on top of the base easier to get to, and make it easier to nade.

So that would definitely mess up how the map plays, and undermine the whole layout structure of the bases.

Same could be said of Containment, and to a lesser but still applicable degree, of Terminal’s bases.

I still say these 3 are the front runners based on descriptions, not to mention they are all great maps that a lot of people would love to see. Relic doesn’t fit the “bases” comment, but the other stuff as well as the jetpack breaking the way the base it does have would work, still makes it a possibility, just less likely.

I share similar sentiments about Headlong. Such an awesome map, best for 1 flag/1 bomb imo. Yet, it’s already been remade for Reach as well. What an unfortunate waste, considering I didn’t get to play the Anniversary maps til about a month ago, thus only getting the snipers gametype on it.

I wish Sidewinder/Avalanche would come back in Halo 5, but I doubt they would remake that one so soon or again at all, even though it definitely has been great with each iteration so far.

I would like to point out that both have the potential for swat on high ground where the offensive side was doomed to fail when approaching the base so both sides just waited for one to come to the other. I would love to see a non icy containment maybe desert would be nice. Waterworks I just can’t really see a reworked feel of the theme of the map, maybe a jungle but still kind of iffy
