Please take this as satire and comedy, nothing more. I didn’t take too long on making this, so it’s meant to be over and under-exaggerated. I did, however, capture some details displayed with the swords, and tried to exact shading on the shield itself.
I can’t believe people are seriously whining about this. Complaining about new character and species designs and weapons and such is one thing…but this is a symbol you see for a few seconds before starting the game.

I’m well aware of that, and I have no problem with still buying the game. The game itself is beautiful, and I’ve posted many times counteracting people flaming about it. But even I can see how this could be the magnificent Legendary symbol. I understand changing it needed to happen, what with changing main enemies and all, but the new symbol isn’t nearly the quality of the game, which unbalances it in relation to the game.
For any game to be good, it needs complete balance; this includes the menus.
Also, the image is supposed to be satirical, DecepticonCobra. That’s why it was made in MS Paint, and not Flash. 
Now, I would appreciate you not flaming me with “Your take sucks” and instead just express your opinion on liking the new symbol (not mine). There was no need for that, and I did take offense by it. The image is supposed to be funny, not amazingly beautiful. As satire, I am merely bound to capture the essence of the image, which I succeeded in by capturing the shield and swords to the best of my ability…at least while I was laughing at my own joke.

Then would you suggest I change the name of the thread to “The Halo 4 Legendary Symbol (Caricature)”? Since a caricature is an over-exaggeration, it is still close to satire. On the other side of things, it is just an image-based representation of a satire.
A satire is supposed to over-exaggerate itself through hilarity or wit, to be true, but both are certainly present. Obviously, some people have found it funny, and the wittiness came from how overly-detailed the shield is. Basically, by definition, I hit the satirical representation spot-on. Sorry you disagree, but you do have a right to your opinion, as do I.
I don’t see what’s so great about it to be honest, is it supposed to look like Halo 4’s actual shield? it doesn’t.

It’s trivial in your opinion. Some people actually care about the little details. There’s no need to insult people because they disagree with you. The new shield is ugly, in my opinion, and I don’t respect the fact that you don’t respect my right to express that.

Not outrage, sorry. Not far from, though; I can’t say I’m not disappointed by the actual Legendary Symbol, so you’ve got me there.
Honestly, I was trying to spark some hilarity on both sides. Many people who like it still think it needs work, so I’m pleasing both sides with a joke; those who don’t like the original get to laugh at how stupid mine is, and those who do appreciate the original (but think it needs work) get to laugh at how over-exaggerated my image is.

I mean it, I don’t try to offend anybody else here by this. Even towards 343i, this is just a funny suggestion of how they need to show us the real in-game deal.

My saying your symbol sucks isn’t flaming you, I am saying your drawing sucks. That is my opinion as brutally honest as I can make it. I don’t see the humor in it and since that was the point of your “satire”, well it failed.

I can dislike something without being offended, I wasn’t. There are actual people whining about a symbol they see for a few seconds before starting the game. It has no impact in the story or the gameplay, it is a meaningless complaint.

Okay. I did take only a little time to make it, so your opinion is respected. However, I can assure you I tried my best while the actual image was open next to this one. And yes, that means I checked every little shading detail, which should be more than apparent if you look closely.
Though, mine wasn’t done in Flash or CS3/4/5 or anything like that, so my shading is based off of the PNG/BMP transfer to a JPEG. A lot of fine details are obscured by that in MS Paint.
I can honestly say I am disappointed by the halo community. The logo looks nothing short of terrible, but I’ve seen people saying so many people saying things along the lines of “343 is ruining halo!!!” for one of the smallest things that’s included in the game. Nearly brought a tear to my eye…

You don’t dictate what is meaningless or not, sorry. If even one person finds meaning in something, it’s meaningful, and quite a few people dislike the new shield. Honestly, it’ll probably grow on me like most of the new stuff has, but right now I just don’t like it.

I get it. I’m sorry you didn’t find it funny, but not all can see the same shape of a cloud in the sky.
I’m not complaining, though. I didn’t make the real symbol, I have no idea what time constraints they were under, and I know for a fact the B&W isn’t the final copy. I’m just a little disappointed, is all. Nothing more, nothing less.
If you would like to know some of my background, I was one of those people who was telling the complainers to cool their jets around the time that the Spartan IV Armor was revealed. Remember how outraged they were on how big the shoulders were compared to the body? It was horrible, and a lot of newcomers to the forums made their first post as an outraged one.
