The Halo 4 Health System

Lately, I’ve been thinking about some ways the health system could be in Halo 4. In my opinion, I think that the health system should include the player health after the shields have diminished. This time, though, the player’s health should regenerate over time, much like the Elite’s health system in Reach, but a little slower. To me, there’s nothing more annoying then seeing that one red bar under your shields that never seems to move.

Since we, hopefully, are going to be wearing Mark VII armor, the suit should repair our injuries over time when our shielding system goes down. I also support the bleed-through melee system that was implemented in the past, and I would hope that it could function properly with this system.

I’m sure 343 has come up with a successful and fair health system (the game has been in development for four years now), but I’m more of a visual person with video games. I like to know what my health is when my shield system fails, so I can better prepare myself for battle.

Basically, I want the Halo 4 health system to operate similarly to Reach’s Elite health system, but I want the player health to regenerate a little more slowly, and I want a visual representation of our health after our shield systems fail. This is purely my opinion.

four years? proofs?

This year makes four. If I remember correctly it was Frankie who said how long they have been working on it last year. I don’t remember if it was at PAX or E3 though.

At Halofest, they said they’d been working on Halo 4 for 2 years, which means it will have been a full 3 year cycle in 2012.

i personnally thought Halo Reach’s system worked just fine, but it needed the bleed through from Halo 3.

One problem is that Halo 2 & 3 didn’t have health because that was how biofoam worked according to Bungie. This is assuming the next suit gets a downgrade from the Mark VI, unless this happens because his armor is damaged and goes away once he gets Mark VII.

I prefer the Halo 3/Halo 2. Health bars get annoying.

One word. Color coded percentage.

I.e. 5%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 100% or 100%

O.O

Look at the colors! Pretty.

in the first or second moniter terminals at the start if you catch it quickly the frame could be the ne hud.

I hope it’s an improved Reach health system. I liked that.

Halo 2 and 3 had it right. /thread
