I have been watching competitive Halo for 8 years now and hands down that was the best event I have ever seen. At first I was critical of 343 for the first two days of the stream, but today was incredible.
I thought competitive Halo was 100% dead, but someone livestreamed the stream on Twitch from their Xbox and managed to beat the Call of Duty MLG event for viewers - and that doesn’t count viewers watching on Halowaypoint/ Xbox 360. I really hope there are more events like this to come!
I totally agree this was amazing. Equal to any MLG event of the last 10 years, better than most MLG I’ve ever watched. Kudos to 343i/MS/AGL/Community/Media for bringing this together in such a great format.
I am excited for Halo’s future. Oh and Halo is ALIVE!
Special mention to the players professionalism, I’ve seen too many tournaments with poor sportsmanship or sledging etc. This was a cut above all of that!
That was one of the craziest tournaments I’ve ever watched in my entire life. I totally vouched for Pistola, congrats to Ace for winning the 200k, just glad Pistola gets 75k as well. Halo is dead no more

> Just curious how many viewers was it?
Not sure as I was watching the stream here on Waypoint, and there was no viewer counter.
I’d expect it to be in the hundreds of thousands, but #Halo4GC was trending on Twitter.
> not sure on viewer count, but there were literally thousands of tweets flying through the #Halo4GC hashtag. View count must have been high

I’m telling you man, should have watched the whole thing! But better late than never
The only part I didn’t like was the sneak peek at Ryse. It looks ridiculously repetitive.

Nah dude, I had to work on saving Hyrule But I got bored and decided to check out the stream

The guy unofficially restreaming the event got to around 12,000 viewers, but of course most people watched either on their Xbox or on Halowaypoint. I do remember it being mentioned by the commentators that “hundreds of thousands of people” were watching, but that might have been more of an expression than a fact.
Whatever the viewers, this definitely shows that competitive Halo can still thrive!
The only bad part of the this whole tournament will be marred as it was a FFA and not a REAL tournament as a 4v4. And the ending 1 kill wins like who made that rule? Prob -Yoink!- gaming… and lets see how long it takes -Yoink!- gaming to give Ace his 200k cause I bet it will be put in his -Yoink!- gaming account. other then that it was a good tournament just not a 4v4 which it should of been from day 1.
Extremely instense. My first E-Sport livestream and i loved it. There was a considerable boost in population after the stream so Halo is alive. The tie in the finals was jaw-dropping. Here’s to hoping for more events like these!
