Halo 4’s box art (game cover) just dosen’t look right to me. Halo 2 and 3’s box art showed the Chief in deep thought, in sort of an emotional and somewhat heroic stance. Halo 4’s box art however shows Chief as a bad -Yoink- flaunting spartan which he isn’t. The Chief is a man of calm stature and few words. Halo 2 and 3’s covers capture this perfectly.
Perhaps 343 wants to take a different path when coming to MC’s attitude.

A placeholder sounds about right. It’s far too early to say that it’s the retailer art box

It’s not the final art for the cover. I mean seriously we have over a year until it comes out. Of course it’s going to change. Remember the old Reach cover art? It was just the silhouette of Noble Team under the Planet Reach and it changed before launch.
Retail Art changes alot.

I think it looks like he is in deep thought. In the trailer it shows destruction behind him and then him staring at the I’m guessing Forerunner planet. The cover looks like he is analyzing it.

Did you notice that his hands are in a fist?
They should do something related to the ending of the Teaser. Halo 3 style. Just the hero looking at the forerunner planet (is that what it is?)
But I really like the current one. I think honestly thing he’s in a heroic stance. A “I’m gonna save the galaxy again, -Yoink-,” stance.
