The halo 4 beta

itts games like cod that dont have beta’s that have problems like glitches so they dont have to release a million patches. so frank o’connor cant take just 2-3 weeks to let the community test the oncomming halo trilogy. to be more specific there being selfish

Or being busy.

Its not the lack of a beta that is the reason for the glitches…its because they are pumping out a game every other year and don’t spend the internal time or resources to work out all the bugs and glitches…
now I’m not saying betas are pointless, Im just saying I don’t think H4 will have near the glitches of CoD

I was actually hoping for a beta myself, now i may have to risk feeling like a chump like i did when i bought halo reach knowing full well i was severely disappointed with the beta.

like my friend said its true they dont spend enough time to make a game, activision wants money and each game its just similar to the other (am reffering to cod), my cousin that have ps3 just said it to me one day, cause we discussed before that whats better cod or halo was 2vs 1, ya MDW2 was awesome and i myself accept it, but then they said it has turned yoink now, it doesnt change, they just change the killstreaks, and i am not cod fan i just know this cause my cousin where a cod addicts; apart form 343 and bungie they spend time on the game and testing it, dont you see diference: black ops 2010, MDW3 2011, halo 3 2007, halo 3 ODST 2009.

I’m hoping for a beta, but it probably won’t happen.

Usually a beta simply tests the networking, not actual gameplay. Of course there will be glitches, it’s pretty much inevitable. But with the amount of time they’ve had for development, the number of glitches should be minimal.

There will be an internal beta and there could even be a private beta at things like Comic-Con

Because, thanks to the BF3 Beta, there were NO problems with the release.

343i has a in house beta going know as we speak …
Lets hope they get it right and if not, that’s what title updates are for .

Halo 4 doesn’t need a public beta.

there not being selfish there being smart that are still making a private beta. People need to understand this. The Private beta will get any and all info/bug/glitches/errors/etc. that a public beta will find. While being able to keep all the spoilers away from the general public

Most people don’t care if they get to test the game. 99/100 people don’t report bugs. People just want to get their hands on the game. They’ll act like they want to make sure the game is tested and whatnot but we know that the only thing they want is an early taste. Betas ruin the final product. The gameplay is such a huge part of the game. You get way too much in a beta and the final game isn’t nearly as exciting.

Not having a public beta is the smartest thing 343 can do. That and being so secretive will be worth it when the game finally releases.

Thank you Ive been trying to get people to understand this. And i definitely agree a very smart move.

trollolololol

Trufax.

There will be no beta. 343 already announced that they can’t afford to use their resources to section out employees for a beta.

No beta. Sorry everyone.

dude betas dont ruin anything. A quality game sells itself. Betas just give time for the fanbase to play and suggest fixes before having to play the broken features and wait for a TU.

yeh or it could blow up in their face. Halo is on deaths door, I talk o my 13 & 16 year old cousinsabout halo and they tell me “no one plays halo anymore” or “its dead”. The younger generation of gamers dont really care for halo. One more flop of a game like reach and halo will turn into duke nukem, a dead franchise wrung out once in a while to exploit memories

I like the fact that there’s no beta. They are making their own game. From what I’ve been hearing about Halo 4, I can already tell the community has screwed it up way too much.

Betas do help, but it has its pros and cons. Betas allow users to playtest the games themselves and submit all the problems they find, but the problem with Betas is that once they release one, it puts the game’s development into a halt because they will have to use resources to release a demo build to the public. So, in a way it’s like releasing two games already. For just a demo they have to make sure the network works, there aren’t game breaking glitches, the graphics and animations are complete and assurance that the game won’t crash. There’s just really way too much work to be done.

These people spent 4 years making this game, I believe Frankie’s words were “If we wanted this game to be perfect we would never get it on the shelves.”. They’ve spent a long time making and testing the game, I’m sure they have a whole team dedicated to just finding glitches in the game. But if they spent all their time trying to fix every little detail we wouldn’t have a game at all.
