So I just found out that the reason that elites in the Halo 2 campaign are not dual wielding any weapons (except the 2 in Cairo Station) is literally just a checkbox in the class setup of units.
I learned this underneath a modder who has made several Rebalanced mods for Halo CE, 2 and Reach.

"It’s literally just ticking a box for every Elite rank. There is no excuse. "
343, step your game up. Don’t expect for the community to fix all the bug you can’t seem to fix. It’s as easy as TICKING A BOX. Things like this are unacceptable.
God I hope they won’t botch Halo 3 like they did with the other games
Funny thing is, I’m seeing Halo 2 enemy elites duel wielding. So I honestly don’t know if it’s a bug or not. However, I’ve yet to see a friendly one doing it.
Regardless, they still haven’t fixed HCE Plasma Pistol bug so don’t expect a thing… and it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if 343 can’t tick a box. I’m pretty sure that from what I’ve seen, a good chunk of their coders/programmers/whatever are the sort of developers that spend more time shaking hands and making themselves look like they’re doing something when they either aren’t or don’t know what they’re doing. One positive about the current situation in the world, is developers actually have to send in their work, which means someone has to check over it. If someone previously could spend an entire day writing 13 lines of code that couldn’t compile, they can’t get away with it now.

The plasma pistol bug is probably the most annoying CE gameplay bug (classic visuals aside), though it seems to have been ‘changed’ in the most recent patch. If you cause another sound to happen from the player then the charge noise will stop. This means you can simply punch the air, causing the thwack noise, and the charge sound will stop. I highly doubt this was intentional by 343i, but it’s something. So go back out there and give that bug a nice left hook!
Yeah its pretty much turned into a mystery in why nothing is being fixed in these games. I remember other people and I reporting the plasma pistol bug awhile back and nothing has been done about it. Its getting to the point in where it feels like 343 is intentionally not taking action. Am I wrong for thinking this?
