The H2 BR is cool, but it's name is WRONG

So I think it’s cool 343 added a previous iteration of the Battle Rifle in Halo 5 but there is one thing that really frustrates me and takes out the immersion of the experience for me and that’s the name of the weapon.

I know it’s the Halo 2 Battle Rifle but looking from a Halo universe perspective, there is NO Halo 2. It’s one universe and it’s the same universe we are still fighting in. It should be called the Battle Rifle 55 or BR-55 because that’s the original Battle Rifle name. The word Halo 2 should NOT be in the weapon name,

I also don’t like this I don’t get why we don’t use the actual name of the weapons in game, a little of topic but I didn’t like how in the Fall of Reach animated series that Blue Team had what looked to be the BR-85.

I’m fairly certain that the name “Halo 2 Battle Rifle” isn’t representative of canon, but rather just to make the weapon instantly recognizable.
