The Gungoose is Underrated

This is how I play Halo when I’m not feeling very competitive (video).

I love the gungoose because it kills enemies with one shot if you hit them directly, which isn’t too hard because the shots seem to explode on proximity so you don’t even need to be really accurate. Also, it’s really hard to shoot someone off a mongoose. And even better, no one ever grabs gungooses when they spawn! So they’re almost always available.

They’re probably considered cheap kills, but if I’m not trying to get too dedicated in a match I’ll just hop on one of these and have a ton of fun. Taking video games back to its core: to have fun. Sure winning, competition, strategy, and coordination are all important in video games, but they are made to be fun and the gungoose it totally a feature of Halo 5 where I can lay back and just enjoy myself without worrying. I like just taking laps around the map and wiping out whoever gets in the way. Kind of a pointless post but I just wanted to share.

Um… no one really uses Gungooses for that purpose. Usually they use it to spam nades in a hallway.

Then they’re using it wrong.

I think the Gungoose is OP, as you said it seems to explode in proximity and it seems more difficult than it should be to actually kill someone on it. I tbag anyone using one if I kill them, so watch out :wink:

Love the Gungoose in certain situations! Great for Warzone Assault, launching shots inside an armory or inside the Core Room = Awesome!
But for some reason the ONI Gungoose is way harder to use… I always get sad when I use a random vehicle req and its an Oni Gungoose :frowning:

The gungoose is OP, and makes the standard goose wholly irrelevant. It’s got a tiny hitbox, can kill a spartan NO problem, and on top of that has UNLIMITED GRENADES FOR SOME REASON!?

there’s a reason it’s my favorite vehicle to use in Halo 5.

And I think it needs serious overhauling or outright replacement. It’s broken as hell, and makes the Goose totally irrelevant when you can use a Scout Hog instead. What we need is The Jackrabbit. Single occupant, no passenger, lighter than a warthog but heavier than a mongoose, much bigger target, has much more driver preotection.

The Jackrabbit is just so much more balanced.

I used to get a ton of kills on them. Especially btb where no one went for them

They’re time to kill is stupidly fast if you know what you’re doing. I’ve killed Warthogs and tanks in em before.

Key words there are “if you know what your doing” I agree a skilled player with them can do work. I’m just so-so with them but still enjoy them.
