The gun in the hitbox is bad

In all of the halo’s (exluding halo Wars), the hitbox includes your gun. can someone please explain why they do this?
It makes noe sense, how would someone shooting the tip of my sniper rifle kill me??

I realise now that it doesn’t effect gameplay that much so it is not that bad

In all of the Halo’s (excluding Halo Wars), the hitbox has never included the gun.

You are wrong, next time you are playing team snipers and you shoot someone and they go for cover, shoot their gun that is sticking out and you will kill them.
Go into custom games and sign in a second controller and grab a sniper and zoom in on the barrel of the other controllers gun and shoot.

It makes me very sad when someone snipes my gun and I die. :frowning:

yeah same here

I think it only makes sense if it should damage shields, and even then, technically it shouldn’t…

Maybe the gun is literally an extension of you.

Shows how much you know about Halo…

The weapon hitbox may be bad when you are shot by other weapons, but when you think about it, it also allows for sticking your opponent’s weapon. Which on the other hand is how it realistically should go. But to be honest, I don’t see the hitbox extension impacting to gameplay in any major way, therefore the only reason you could actually argue against it is realism. And granted, that isn’t the biggest reason either.

On the other hand, it offers a new tactic to gameplay. Not very big, but tactic nonetheless. And this tactic can in no way be said to be unfair as the only situations you can die to someone hitting your gun are either caused by luck or your own bad decisions of not hiding far enough behind the wall. And even then, this most of the time applies if both sides have a Sniper Rifle, in all other cases it’s 99% irrelevant.

Therefore, I don’t think it should go. The effects to gameplay, if very minor, can generally be said to be positive because outside of sniper-sniper situations only thing it really does is allowing sticking your weapon with a Plasma grenade. Removing it would be pointless, more specifically detrimental.

Ok your argument is very good

Like in Soviet Russia
In America the gun is literally an extension of you.
In Soviet Russia you is literally an extension of the gun.
