Does anyone else think that this version of a guardian looked a lot better than the one we have seen from the E3 footage?
They look almost the same for me. I think the E3 one might be at a different angle?
Notice the color of its eyes. I bet we will have multiple guardians, hence Halo “Guardians”.
Absolutely, I thought this the second they showed that cover art featuring it. I don’t understand the massive design downgrade. The new one is just like a metallic version of the metroid prime with a bunch of -Yoink- triangles around it. I thought this design looked a lot more forerunner, had a lot better shapes (look at the wings and head specifically, the first had a much more defined visual presence, whereas the new one is just convoluted), and it just had cooler ideas, like the tendril wires floating around. The new design is complete garbage, absolutely disappointing, but based on size comparisons it’s possible that this is something completely different from that tinfoil gradeschool project that is the new guardian.
Who says all Guardians look the same?
The E3 2015 Guardian is definitely the better design IMO. It’s a lot more menacing than the E3 2013 giant owl.

Not even close dude, the wings and eyes are a dead giveaway at the massive difference.

I’m guessing they look different. Theres the blue and orange guardians and then remember the orange and blue prometheans.
Well the orange one looks like a bird head while the blue one has a deformed skull with a head-dress for a head…really don’t see how anyone could say those look the same.
I’d assume they’re just two entirely different entities.

The guardians may all look different, and I assume cheif was controlling the E3 guardian and that’s why it’s blue and a forerunner or a Promethean is controlling the teaser one and that’s why it’s orange

You’re probably right. Every Guardian will most likely be unique in terms of appearance.

I think that skullface bothers me the most, I can get over the body, but I don’t really understand why it would have something like a skull as it’s face.
And I don’t think they look all different because in the trailer they showed after the gameplay, you can see another guardian rising from a volcano (?).
I think that they both look cool. However, I doubt that they’re the same Guardian.

Not that I know of, I think the rest of the game looks awesome, it’s just the design of the guardian that bothers me for whatever reason.
The new one is at a different phase in its animation. they’re pretty much the same. One is a fully CGI trailer one is ingame rendered.

Many Forerunner machines, such as the War Sphinxes, were noted to have a “face” on them. Part of the design and relatability, sometimes these were operated by the essences of fallen warriors.
This is just 343i pulling directly from the lore again, which is awesome.
the initial design looks better imo. Fuller, more solid pieces. But 343 likes to have the techy things with as little connectivity as possible.
