The Guardian in Halo 5?

I have a theory:
There could be some clues looking back in Halo 4.

In Halo 4,

  • The Prometheans are blue under the Librarian’s control.
  • The Prometheans are orange under the Didact’s control.
  • The Librarian is a friend to Humanity.
  • The Didact is a foe to Humanity.
  • When the Librarian snatched the Chief, she altered his genetic code to make him become immune to the effect of the Composer and to defeat the Didact.
  • She stated to him, " The genesong I placed within you contains many gifts including an immunity to the Composer, but it must be unlocked."

In Halo 5,

  • I am willing to bet that there is only one Guardian that will be in this game. Maybe two Guardians, yes. I still think there is one Guardian though, because it shows there is a Guardian that appears to have orange lights in the desert trailer but in the campaign demo, a Guardian appears to have blue lights. Like when Chief looked up at the Guardian, it was like he made an agreement to use it as a benefit to destroy an unknown threat in the galaxy.
  • So with that genesong imprinted by the Librarian, it would allow Chief to have access to the Guardian and it would of changed from orange to blue under the her permission.
  • Lastly, Chief has control of the Prometheans and will use the Guardian to reclaim Humanity, for his duty and honor to save mankind.

I don’t know. I think after what the Librarian did to Chief in Halo 4, that is going to have a big impact on him in this next game to complete whatever mission he is trying to complete, but in a good way.

I could imagine something like this could happen. It’s hard to explain what might happen. Reply and let me know what theory you have came up with. I am curious. Thanks!

She’s dead.

Holy crap, you’re fast and everywhere where Cortana is mentioned.

I didn’t even think this was going to be Cortana related. It actually seemed to be going along the lines of the Librarian granting Chief the ability to control the Prometheans and Guardians thanks to the Librarian’s gifts…then the OP just kinda threw in a Cortana resurrection theory at the last second. Insert confused Jackie Chan .gif here.

Good theory, but leave out cortana, like halsey said “she’s dead

She’s dead Jim.

There’s probably going to be at least two Guardians.

You know Cortana’s imprint, or essence, could be in the Domain and it still would not negate the fact that she was dead. She can be Dead and still have a significant role to play in the story.
The Forerunners, after all, believed that the Domain functioned as a form of afterlife. Halo 5 may reveal that there is at least partial truth to that statement.

Well I think there are two guardians. The one from the reveal trailer is one presumably under someones control that is attacking the colonies, and the second could be the one shown during the e3 gameplay that is good( as in not attacking the colonies). The title says Guardians…so there could be more than one.

Too many holes. Only one Guardian when the title is plural, ‘Guardians’, and we’ve already seen two Guardians ― the Sphinx and humanoid Guardian? Cortana returns? She’s confirmed dead. Why would Chief have control of Warrior–Servants when he has a Lifeshaper’s gift? “Reclaim” ― reclaim what? Humanity reclaimed the Galaxy as soon as they became the super power, defeated a Sundered Star and crushed what’s left of the Covenant. Even the UR-Didact acknowledges this in his monologue. I mean, seriously, even ONI is literally screwing with Sangheili at this point.

I believe that the master chief can if not already control the Prometheans. I say this because I think that one of the gift’s the librarian gave the chief was a part of her DNA that made him part Forerunner which gives him the ability to control the Prometheans.

I agree would make sense that she would have been transferred to the domain threw entering the composers systems. And it never accually says she died, it just implies it. She might have thought she was dying but realized her was only being assimilated into the domain where she could connect with all the forrunner tech, thus allowing master chief to have access while deniying his hunter Locke from getting to him. Don’t think its the librarian because of you read the books it says that the librarian died on earth erecting the portal when the rings fired. The librarian we think we see in halo 4 is actually only a imprint of the librarian. Like an AI that was left by her to help who ever came to requiem.

Boot up Halo 4, go to the mission select screen, look up the epilogue mission and read its description and tell me what it says.

3 Guardians. Calling it Right now

Lol calm down, I know but that’s just what cheif thinks, that she’s dead. It could easily be dr Halsey controlling them with the Janus key, just saying it could be cortana

The descriptions are not from Chief’s perspective and multiple sources including Halo: Escalation and the Halo 4 Essential Visual Guide, along with Frank O’Connor himself, have confirmed her dead. I’m not angry, just disappointed you would misled people with information that isn’t true.

The mission description that says Cortana died is from 343i. As well as Escalations, the Visual Guide, and the Universe section.

It looks like the OP removed the stuff about Cortana being alive…

I bet their is more than one guardian hence “Halo 5: Guardians”.

It was confirmed on Halopedia that the Guardians from this year’s E3 and the one from the first Halo 5 E3 trailer are two different ones. Supposedly, there are many, not just one or two, and they all have distinct characteristics.
