The grenades outclass weapons and melee in Infinite Ranked

I cant take ranked seriously when I know its really a game of spam grenades or be spammed with grenades

Limit grenades to just one grenade per grenade type in ranked gameplay

People are using grenades as a crutch for lack of gunplay skills and this braindead gameplay loop of spamming an entire region of the map with grenades and then rushing the opposing team is absolutely broken.

Are you new to Halo? It has always been this way!

Lol. I thought the exact same thing.

I don’t play ranked, but grenades outclass weapons and melee?

Well thats just cause they do, they do more damage to multiple people at once.

They are more effective at killing.

Why do you think you are only allowed 2 of the same grenade?

You can only melee 1 person at a time, most guns can only shoot 1 person at a time with a few exceptions like the sniper or heatwave (set on horizontal shot)

But grenades just, explode and hit everything they can.

Theres a good reason why teams will just nuke an area with nades, theres an old saying

“You can’t miss when you hit everything!”

Here is an idea that can fix that.

Yeah but in 2 and reach you had counters to grenade spam.

If Halo 2 launched today people would hate it. You could have 8 grenades in that game, oof.

Maybe its time to get rid of the crutch bud

Same can be said for 5, with the permanent thruster you could evade nades all together or make them less detrimental to your shield and health. With Infinite, the repulser and the thruster are ways you can counter nades but they are limited due to them only being pick-up items.

If theyre so effective at killing why do you need more than one in a ranked mode?

I said I didn’t play ranked, but if you are dying and having issues, I suggest the training mode with the bots.

Its there for a reason.

You can bounce them away with repulsor in this game too. I think drop shield takes too long to set up if the grenade is already thrown tho

Training mode is super duper helpful, I hope more people take to using it. Sometimes it’s good just to warm up, or if you saw someone doing something cool last match you wanna try, it’s good for that too. I spent a while trying to replicate a grapple-stab in training mode that someone got me with a couple times in a match lol definitely worth putting in the time

Yeah most equipment can counter grenades in this game.

drop walls if timed well can reflect them, repulsers are a limited hard counter, grapple hook is grapple hood, thrusters can get you out of the range.

Still think we need a trophy system type one as I have linked to.

oh and jumping jumping and crouching mid air has a high chance of just avoiding the grenade all together.

Oh training can help, more so its better to set up custom games with bots to really have consequences to make you learn.

Its just a bummer that for now, custom games are the only way we can enjoy the game how we want.

Thats a pretty good nonanswer from someone who doesn’t even qualify to speak on this topic in the first place

This is Halo, not COD.
Grenades are a staple of Halo games and always have been. Quit trying to nerf or change everything because you don’t like it. The only thing that should change is friendly fire. Bring it back and that will reduce the amount of spaming and bring the need of tactics back.

This, halo had always 2 grenades, also in ranked

Imagine not knowing what halo is or how it plays. I can’t believe you have the audacity to even compare it to other first person shooters. If you don’t want to play a game that deal with melees and Grenades, then play uninstall this game and play something else rather than complain. You post will not inspire change and nothing will happen because this is a core function in the game.

Grenades are part of the skill curve. Theres still a lot of 1v1 gun duels and team shooting happening. Halo had the "golden triangle " and now it has equipment (again). You use all the tools of the sandbox in this game. Repulsor can deflect all incoming grenades, drop wall will have the nades also bounce back. Of course sometimes you’ll still get hit. You’ll die when you try and retreat by a good nade, trap nade etc. It’s part of halo.

A big problem is the grenade indicators and hit detectors. People have always spammed grenades in halo but now you can do so and know exactly where the opposing team is without any repercussions.
