My favourite weapon from Reach has to be the grenade launcher. In good hands that weapon is devastating while in the hands of an inexperienced player it could be more harmful to the player.
Bring it back in Halo 4! One thing Halo lacks is an array of weapons that take skill to use. Currently it’s only the utility weapon and the sniper. That’s just about it. The grenade launcher adds some new life to the mix.
Keep posting on this thread to make sure 343 sees it.
this is what they are trying to change, because right now only 4 weapons are used in all of halo:
dmr, sniper, rockets, shotgun
its a waste and Im glad they are going to change the gameplay in this sense. I am very excited to see what comes of this.
On another note, I’m really craving some cheddar and jalepeno sausages right now :’( and there are none at my house. And I am sad…and hungry

That’s why i never believed any sandbox after CE was any good or balanced. Sure CE had the utility in the form of the pistol but the sandbox was small enough that wasn’t a problem ( the automatics were viable too).
Of course when you make the sandbox bigger with more options and place a utility weapon that beats every other gun (Halo 2/3/Reach) it creates an imbalance because players are going to ignore the guns that suck and pick the one with the most skill. Now it’s problem because the sandbox is too big and there are more useless guns. I mean i used BR/DMR utility but it sucks realizing the other weapons are just taking up disk space 
So i really hope that this loadout thing works and that players move out of their comfort zones and learn new weapons besides what we’ve been used to. They all have to be viable for all levels of play as well. Not just exclusively casual or exclusively competitive but both at the same time.
I am all for bringing back the Pro Pipe (GLORY TO THE TUBE!) as long as it’s a power weapon and not something that can be spawned with.
I love the Pro Pipe! It is a really fun weapon to use. Much better than the Brute Shot or Concussion Rifle. The best part about it is being able to control when it explodes. So if you are good at judging the distance, you can get an insta-kill every time.
The Pro Pipe was one of the best things to come out of Reach.

Meh, I never liked using it. But I can’t deny it added variety to the sandbox.

You can bounce the grenades around corners, set up booby traps, heck, I’ve pelted a jetpacker in mid flight with just the projectile, no explosion. I really do hope the cannon returns.
I thought the Reach Beta had one of the greatest sandboxes of all time. Do you remember? People were getting kill streaks with plasma pistols! I would personally seek out the plasma repeater. And then there was the Jesus Cannon . . . Good lord. If one of those blueberries locked on to you, there was no escape. I actually felt accomplished getting away from that gun. That was a fun 2 weeks for sure.

If they bring it back I wish there was a way to tell if the projectile was close to an enemy like a sensor that makes the grenade turn red. I loved the grenade launcher, but a common reoccurring problem is that you really can’t judge depth on a 2-d surface like you TV display, so sometimes it was hard to judge if the grenade was right in an enemy’s face or 10 feet in front of him where it would detonate harmlessly.

You do know that a skull pops up on the gun itself when it’s in “kill range” of an enemy right?

I never heard anybody complain about the plasma pistol or repeater. Maybe the Jesus Cannon . . . But now it’s next to useless. How many times have you ran over an untouched Plasma Cannon on Boardwalk?
Just make weapons appropriate for proper situations. Close, medium, and long range. That’s how you add sandbox variety.
In precision weapons:
Close Range: Pistol
Medium Range: BR
Long Range: DMR
You can fill the rest of the sandbox accordingly:
Close Range: Shotgun, Sword, etc
Medium Range: AR, Needler, etc
Long Range: Sniper, Laser, etc
Have an “even” sandbox. Maybe more medium range weapons since they’re the median. Precision weapons should reasonably beat other weapons of the corresponding range. A BR should beat an AR at mid-range, but the AR should beat the pistol at mid-range. Add variety and strategy to the sandbox. Because you can only carry two weapons you have to leave yourself vulnerable at one range, or if you’re stupid, two . . .

This is why I wan’t it back. Bad players can’t use it so it’s even more satisfying when you get a kill with it.
I go for grenade launcher instead of rockets on powerhouse, yah i hope they keep it.
