Some people may call nitpicking when others are too specific, but I tend to keep a keen eye out for detail and subtlety. Here is what I would like to see, or what I see that I like already…
-
An option to remove the points that pop up every time you do something important. Seriously to me at least, the numbers are just distracting and only ingratiate the player for completing totally mundane task. It’s just irritating and I very much hope there is an option to either remove, or minimalize it to the the corner of the HUD or something. It’s existence is not my problem, but rather the fact its always right up in your face for doing totally normal stuff.

Effective plasma weaponry, aka Covenant weapons. Throughout the Halo Franchise, the plasma weapons have always seemed to been so completely bound by such extremely small circumstantial use, so much so that their practical implementation in fights were pretty much not even needed. I’m not saying that they aren’t useful, I’m just asking that they be MORE useful, because quite frankly they don’t help enough and people tend to choose ballistic weapons if they are playing to win anyways. Give more of a reason to choose that plasma rifle over the SAW.
-
A slow down effect on un-shielded enemies when they are being shot by plasma based weaponry. This is a buff to plasma weaponry and is reminiscent of Halo 1.
-
For Promethean weapons to be and stay stronger than all other faction weaponry by nature, as they were created by a far more technologically advanced race and it would only make sense for them to be more powerful in general.
-
A classic mode for those who prefer the older style’s of Halo, and by this I mean modes which take out sprinting, secondary abilities, and other misc. items.
-
One thing I have noticed in the campaign anyways is that Cortana and Chief are talking more than ever. That in its self is not a bad thing, but it is the fact that both of them feel compelled under many rather mundane circumstances to voice out even the most simple observations. I don’t know what can be done, but it just seems so out of character, especially for Chief, who is usually rather quiet and talks when he has something important to say.

Faster strafing direction changing. It was rather slow in Halo 3. don’t know if it has or will be changed in Halo 4.
-
A reduced reliance on Aim Assist. Put’s more skill is getting those head shots on enemies with precision UNSC weapons such as the DMR and BR. I don’t know about you guys, but it was a cake walk getting head shots in Halo 3 with the BR for me at least. This also ties into adding balance to close-mid-far range UNSC weapons.
And… that’s all! Tell me what you guys think.

Yes Covie guns went in the wrong direction since Halo 2. They were just starting to improve in Reach and the transition to Halo 4 has been quite large (much better damage and kill times). I just hope they’re also versatile. Ever remember getting overkills on Grunts in CE? I did it all the time thanks to stun. In Reach, I have to be very quick due to the lack of stunning capabilities. Also, the Needler was suitable for taking out multiple enemies rather than the anti-personal destroyer that it is now.
-
Just what I had in mind. In CE, it’d effect turning speed.
-
Yes obviously that must be the case. I’m betting Tilt will make them extra efficient, giving another good reason to turn on that accursed skull (the other reasons are that it reduces explosion damage and makes vehicles tougher).
-
Luckily for me, I play without the audio on and still manage to get immersed. Though I can’t help but wish the in-game scripted dialogue would appear in subtitles (I don’t know if they already do this).
-
Yes this is much needed. In Halo 2, if this had been the case, it’d be easy mode on Legendary. Likewise, Halo 3 and Reach are probably the same case. The enemies aren’t as accurate as they were before. It’s just you’re too slow, an easier target to hit for them.

I think the Halo 4 BR has a lot of it, but this is to make it able to compete with the DMR, since it already has a number of disadvantages.
Anyways, just one important thing to mention: not too much autoaim for rocket launcher, please! It’s ridiculous!
If you guys watch the behind the scene vids that 343 released they said that they have made the plasma weapons more competitive with the UNSC weapons, they also have a mode without loadouts or Armor Abilities for people that want a more classic halo experience. 343 also is letting you choose to use the DMR or the BR in swat.
The points and such displayed under your reticle aren’t as bad as you make them out to be, this is primarily because you haven’t played it yet. Taking the word of just about every player who has actually played the builds of the game wether at PAX, E3 or RTX have for the most part all said they don’t really even noticed the words at all.

The points straight up there have no other purpose then to just pop up and be like “woopie! you got 10 points for killing that guy!” It’s subtle, but I would just greatly prefer they handle it like they had in Halo Reach with credits. When you got credits for doing something, it would say so in small characters in the bottom left. If only even just an option.
