Do you remember when you were stuck in class waiting for Halo 2 to come out? Or the day you skipped school for the release of Halo 3? What about all those pizza partys from any of the great Halo’s? All the greasy pizza, soda stains, broken controllers, best friends yelling out of pure excitement from getting the last kill in a 8v8 game of team slayer? Staying up all night with your closest of friends and even sometimes your parents and their friends! HA! It’s been too long since those reckless evenings and “mornings” took place in our homes. Don’t get me wrong, Halo Reach had its share of moments, but it just didn’t give some of us that same excitement that Halo, Halo 2, or Halo 3 gave us. Ya, Reach offered a lot on the table for sure, and it was fun when friends came over for a little get together, but there was something missing, a certain feeling that just didn’t make it classic. With Halo 4 getting close, all these feelings of excitement are coming back and I don’t know why. Even though we havn’t seen or heard much about Halo 4, there still is a certain feeling in the back of my head that says Halo 4 will deliver. There’s just something about it that gives me hope that those days will soon return! Maybe it’s the Name Halo… with nothing after it. or the new look of the Chief… or the fact that He’s back with Cortana. I’m not really sure what it is, but it def is a good feeling. What do you guys or gals all think of all this?

New at the time + Nostalgia + Lost youth + Friends = Great memories. This is the way of life. People think its the game that makes these experiences, and in some ways it does, but a lot of it is up to you as well. Nice post btw.
Hopefully Halo 4 can bring in some good memories. 343 has some pretty big shoe to fill and if they screw up now, I pity what will happen to them after the fact.
You and I have the exact same feeling. I remember those all nighters with my uncle on halo CE, 2 and 3. Once, his friend drove from Florida to come to the house JUST to spend the week playing halo. So awesome. I loved those days. Reach didn’t have much of it. The biggest local tech party I’ve had is about 4 but I remember the old days oth the whole neighborhood was there! Ohhh. You and I think JUT alike. Oh yes.

I sincerely hope that Halo 4 is at least almost as amazing as Halo 2. I will never forget those awesome memories. cries
History far too off repeats the worst it can drag out, the good times will never happen twice, nor will it stay the same forever.
Those days are gone, and pinning your hopes on this game of which we know nothing is just foolish wishful thinking. It wont stop us from hoping though.

Sounds exactly like my brother, who is 24, and in Law School at UT… when he gets the rare chance of coming home he’ll see if a friend or two wants to come over. They end up playing Halo 3 until 3 in the morning ha! But yes, it is an awesome feeling getting together with your closest friends and just having a good time.

Well I’ve been able to enjoy every Halo game. Honestly, Halo 4 seems to be filling me more with dread than anticipation. So much potential, but since 343 is so new, I have doubts that they can deliver.

Some of my BEST memories are getting out of school on Friday and not being able to concentrate on anything because of the excitement of playing Halo 2 LAN later on that night. A lot of Pizza and beer consumed lol.
