The Good, In the Bad, In the Ugly.

Now, maybe I’m going a little too far by calling Halo 5 Bad and Ugly on 343’s own forums but hey, I think it’s worth the Clint Eastwood reference. Never mind that though, the point of this post is that while the community may not have been the biggest fans of Halo 5 or Halo 4… there certainly were SOME parts of it that were good.

Sir, please put the gun down and let me pose the actual question.

What are the parts of Halo 5 or Halo 4 that you’d like to see return in Halo Infinite, if anything? Personally? I’d like to see the unique, “Requisition” guns, the ones you got in the packs that you used in Warzone? I think they still have a place in Halo, and that is in the Campaign. Imagine you get them from drops at the end of missions, with the higher the mission tier rewarding the highest chance at those real powerhouse guns, with the highest difficulty not being Legendary, but LASO. Now, if you die in a LASO… you’d lose both of the guns you brought with you, but in exchange, LASO has “Requisition” guns dropping like c a n d y, and you can keep whatever you take to the end of the mission.

Also, from Halo 4, I really loved the “weapon drop” system where doing well in PvP earns you a medium strength power weapon or Overshield/Camouflage/Speed Boost, and I think that system returning might be kinda nice, and mean that games wont be decided purely by who gets the power weapons first.

I think the best stuff is mostly these things:
Halo 4

  1. Armor abilities save for Promethean Vision
  2. Assault rifle actually being viable
  3. Loadouts were fun for creative setups

Halo 5

  1. Req vehicles for forge
  2. Forge is the best in the series
  3. Customs browser

  1. A layered movement system like in halo 5 (but hopefully this would be possible without thrusters but with doing more than just grenade jumping and blowing up canisters to give you a speed boost) with maps to complement them the endless amounts of ways you could combine thrusters and sprinting along with slides were insane and if you mastered everything it gave you an insane edge on your competitions
  2. Maps with lots of skilled jumps if you look at H5 maps you start to notice there is an insane attention to detail with the multiplayer maps there is a YouTuber named Shyway that breaks this all down almost all of this down to the point where it takes an hour for him on some maps like plaza and regret
  3. A gun with an insane skill gap like the magnum the BR in H3 had a pretty good skill gap but after playing H3 a lot more I never have any trouble 4 shoting people now that ik how to use the BR better and I would like a gun like the magnum this to hopefully put more of the skill emphasis away from what is has been in the classic halos which has primarily been around positioning and knowing when and when not to peak a duel in conjunction with how to peak a duel and putting a lot of it on gunskill I feel like this would make infinite more fun
  4. That’s really about it for me oh and comp ranks similar to H5s rank and not 1-50 I always found that boring as a felt like I was grinding for a COD rank and a badge just feels more satisfying to me
  5. Crouch Strafing and more strafing options in the past halos all you could do was jump and move side to side with crouching not being possible while doing it in halo 5 you could crouch mid fight and even strafe with this I would love to see this come back
